true but if in late dec there is still no stock, since its a preorder now and sony hatchi already OOS. It means that during dec, there wont be ready stock and only for those who preorder.

Flippers will still earn from those buying as xmas presents for their hubby, bf etc haha but of course the price wont be as crazy as yesterday.

I knew my zidoo z9s player always crashed the hdmi arc function. Thus i off it when i realize no audio output to AVR, but i not aware should let it off 10-15mins to wipe off the EDID. Good suggestion, i will try it later.

Remember to set the Audio Format (Priority) in the Sound --> Audio Output --> General settings and set it to Linear PCM. You'll be surprised but this is actually the best output format to get out of your PS5.
Both Dolby and DTS use a lossy format. So you will lose a bit of the sound information. PCM format is lossless. Therefore, no compression and is the best way to enjoy the sound from your games.
Also, by choosing Linear PCM, your AVR won't have to do any decoding vs using Dolby and DTS. Therefore, this format will give you the lowest amount of audio latency too. You can try this out by changing to PCM, try to move up and down in the PS5 menus and hear how fast the sound effect comes in response to your navigation presses. And now change to Dolby and try again. See how much slower the sound comes.


And as for answering your question, if your TV and AVR only supports ARC and not eARC, then unfortunately, you must use Dolby or DTS. I recommend DTS. It has the fastest decoding vs Dolby.
If there is still no sound, it is probably because you have used this HDMI port on your TV for some other device correct? Shut off the power from the wall for your PS5, TV and AVR. Unplug the HDMI. Let it rest for about 10 to 15 mins and try again. This method is to ensure that the EDID information is refreshed as all the 3 devices will have to re-share their EDID information with one another.

I might go pre order from tog tml as well if i managed to get then i cancel the hachitech one. TOG like better in managing lol

To be honest challenger/hachi tech online portal and orders is poorly managed. Seems like their system haven't improve from when they first started with only 2-3 staff managing whole SG orders. Sometimes only one staff handling the orders for weeks when the others unavailable because of other duties, mc or on leave.

Source: I was one of the former employee handling the online portal. We had discussions with the management on how to improve the online portal and reduce customer service issues but no... they refuse to listen. Many times face no stock, unable to deliver because system shows got stock but physically bo stock. Sometimes I bopian have to go other branch collect stock and deliver it to customers myself because shipping location either no stock or unable to assign delivery. When informed management about this issue, the answer I get is, its my responsibility and duty. Why many left because lousy pay, try to avoid to pay OT and if you can't meet your membership quota cut your commission even if you can bring in top product sales. Why you think the staff try hard sell you membership? Now you know.

Compared to Courts they are nowhere near in terms of their online portal. While not perfect or 100%, Courts have way better system implemented on managing of their online portal. Only thing their CS a bit slow to response sometimes but most of time sure can settle.

So damn true on the terrible online portal and mishandling of orders. As we speak, pickupp had already updated us with the delivery info via sms but the online portal still shows --- on the track order page. The supposed "email notification" we should receive when there's update of our orders are non existent as well..appalling indeed.
