Its disappointing esp those who preorder at physical stores haha.. those who goes to the proper channel of preordering have to wait so long, while people can just order multiple sets online haha..

Was browsing Playstation store on mobile phone and saw NBA2K21 basic edition on sale, but when I logged in PlayStation store on PS5 it's not shown in the store.

Anyone knows what's the reason or encountered it before? The account on phone is same as my PS5 account

Yea sony really fail in this aspect. They are like punishing the legit buyers who spend the effort queuing or going down to the stores. Indirectly screwing them.

No ps4 was already profitable on day 1.

Scaper’s units also ended up at gamers eventually ... I don’t think it affect unit market penetration and utilisation rate ?

Eventually yes, but its lost revenue software/subscription revenue for sony as long as these machines remain with the scalpers. The point is sony is selling ps5s at a lower price point to get them out quickly, they could have just priced them at 1k if they didnt care about speed of adoption.

Yes, that's why Sony ultimately doesn't care (or need to care). But I wish they would, to support their customers and genuine gamers who have been on their platform through multiple generations.

They care, but are not putting in the resources to stop scalping. An easy way to deter scalping is to stop online sales and only take fully paid pre orders (1 per person) from their stores, if a scalper want to use his father's name he will have to get his father to queue up himself.

Sony is selling PS5 at a loss in a bid to increase their installed base, yet these low life parasite scalpers are sabotaging Sony's business by hoarding these PS5s, Sony might as well have launched PS5 at 1k or something.

Under the current environment, it would be difficult to have long lines or large groups of customers congregating at their stores.

I guess it’s more accurate to say that Sony does care but they don’t care enough to try and do something targeted about it. If they can indeed ramp up production, that would be the most straightforward way to deal with the problem.
