Here is a data point.

1) I bought Assasin Creed's Vahalla - Limited edition at $73 from Shopee. The lowest price that I can get. During days of plays sale that ended just a couple days ago. The gold edition is just $79 and contains more DLC, etc. The standard edition was below $60

2) I bought Spiderman Miles Morales at $63 from Shopee. I learnt a lesson that this US version will play just fine but can't redeem the pre-order DLC with Singapore PSN. I can't also upgrade to top-up and get ultimate version (the remastered spiderman). During the days of play sale, the ultimate version is much cheaper.

The only good deals that I can get is those pre-owned PS4 disc games, may be in the future pre-owned PS5 games. For now, seems the physical disc prices (even with discounted in Sony store or shopee), can't beat digital price.

I bought Yakuza Legendary Hero Pack and Ghost of Tsushima around $50 each. Seems bundled game with all DLC would be cheaper in digital than buying base + DLCs.

For point no. 2) You can always create a US region psn to redeem the dlc & get the remastered spiderman deal.. Anyway for new games, the physical copy will be cheaper (via shopee & voucher/cc promo etc) and not to mention normally can re-sell it to recover at least 70% of the cost.

As for older games, yes I agree digital one which are on sales definitely will be a better deal.

I never have any issues buying games from any region if they came with Free DLC. Just create an account for all 3 regions. Probably tedious at the start but that's about all you need to do to get everything set up. Then whenever I buy games from lets say for eg. Europe region (R2) then I select the Europe PSN account and then just claim the DLC from there. Then go back to the account that I subscribed PS+ to and then play the game after installing so I can use Cloud save for that game.

Woah so many room .
most only have 1 room or 1 living room for entertainment .
Ok lah. Not all rooms have entertainment setup, my wife’s yoga room room only has a Google nest hub max as a screen for her workout.

IMHO

Digital
Pros
- Convenience, Availability
- Saves shelf/storage space
- No need for disc insertion
- Affordable prices when games on sale or are old

Cons
- Buyer's regret when game isn't that enjoyable (waste $$$ especially when costly)

Physical
Pros
- Can sell once completed game (recoup some cost, use it to fuel another game)
- Collection (a bit like collecting figurines)
- Lend to friend/borrow from friend to play (SIC, yeahhhhhhh)

Cons
- Need to go to retail to buy/wait for delivery (worse if damaged disc/case etc)
- Disc insertion (mechanism spoil)

I buy both physical (once launch, sell when done/not nice) and digital (SALE! cheap, cheap, not nice and won't have heartache) - depends on the timing.

IMO, Digital is a good choice, if you are not into rushing into brand new games when launch.

For me Digital makes sense because I don't need to play the new games immediately, heck even the free games for PS+ is enough for me lol.

Disc is better if you really chiong games, if don't like still can sell.

But it's a really personal factor, both are good choices as long as they suit your 'buying' style.

Looks like Sony is keeping everyone on their toes, almost towards EOD & no sign of the drop yet. The marketing team is going to be happy with 2-3-4X hits on the website! Lol
