@xiaofan Could you help me take a look at the floor plan ? Do I need mesh solution ?

@xiaofan how do I get multiplier LAN ports to works in different room ?

Here you mention only 1 port of the ONT is working. the solution mentioned here is for BTO. Not sure if it applies for my case ? I have the FPT+ONT in the living room.

No. Typically ONT only has one LAN port active. The other LAN ports are not active.

So you need a router in the DB box to use Ethernet Backhaul. This is called Option 1 in the below FAQ. Some ISPs use ONR which can be put in the DB box -- this is also Option 1.

There is another possibility if you have two LAN ports next to each other in the living room (or another central place). This is called Option 2 in the below FAQ.

Please read the following FAQ.
How to put the main wireless router out of DB box in the central location and keep room LAN ports functional?

the 1 port will feed to the router... the router itself should have a number of ports

if insufficient ports, then you can consider adding switches

I see. Thank you. The LAN port connecting to the wireless router, can it feed to another wireless router in another room to make a mesh setup ?

Only if that 2nd router can be set up as an access point....

Or if it is part of a mesh family like Asus aimesh

Yes. There is a huge difference here for bigger flat.

With Ethernet Backhaul, you can use cheaper dual band mesh solution. The placement of the mesh nodes are also flexible.

With wireless backaul, you may have to use triband mesh solution. The placement of the mesh nodes are also more difficult, typically with line of sight or with only one wall in between.

You may want to update your floor plan with the locations of the LAN ports available.

Without the info, I think one potential option for you may be M1 6Gbps offer with dual ZenWiFi BT10 top-up. Two ZenWiFi BT10 will not be able to cover the flat either, maybe aother two units, total 4 nodes.

M1 6Gbps plan offer --> S$34 per month, top up at S$12 per month, total effective price is at S$46 per month. Then M1 has PWP (purchase with purchase) offer for S$21 x 24 month = S$504, for another two units of Asus ZenWiFi BT10.
https://shop.m1.com.sg/fbb/plans-bundles/fbb-plan?plan=HOMEPAC_6GBPS_24

But better to use a more powerful main router for a 4 nodes system, since Asus ZenWiFi BT10 has a weak CPU, say Asus ROG GT-BE98 as main router, plus three Asus ZenWiFi BT10 nodes.
If can buy another BE805 from Carousell under $300 then it should be more worth it and $12 topup for 2 BT10 ? BE905 can setup EasyMesh right ? How is the performance compared to BT10 ?

Not really.

If using as a single router, I will recommend Archer BE805 more than Asus ZenWiFi BT10.

As a mesh solution, two ZenWiFi BT10 (Asus AImesh) beats two Archer BE805 (TP-Link EasyMesh) hands-down.

Asus AImesh = TP-Link Deco Mesh >> TP-Link EasyMesh (not so mature).

I have tried TP-Link EasyMesh with my Archer BE805 + HB710 / EX510 and I do not think it is mature/stable as Asus AIMesh and TP-Link Deco Mesh.

Hi I have recently start to pick up on such household things and realize my household has been with Singtel on 1gbs fibre which is unsurprisingly slow at times.. used WA to check with the CS and they offered no promotion at all..

I’ve seen promotion links in this thread but also saw ppl saying they were rejected for it
Just considering if I should switch to another provider, if yes what will be the recommendation for a stable connection in the west for working/light gaming
I honestly had no clues about internet stuff like ont or onr, even like what is being used at my household currently

Yes you can.

The main limitation comes from the fact that ZenWiFi BT10 has only two 10G ports (one for WAN and one for LAN) and single 1G port, so you may need a switch in the DB box if you need other room LAN ports to be functional.

Slow is because of singtel crap router, not the 1gbps. Feel free to change to m1 or starhub

So at this current moment, will the M1 6gbps plan for 34.90 be the most recommended one? Honestly I hated M1 years ago when I was stuck on their mobile plan, so am reluctant to sign with them, but if no better option exist I guess I got no choice. Need to have internet latest by mid June.

If you do not like M1, Starhub 3Gbps plan with free HB410 is the next choice.

If I want to switch provider from like Singtel to M1 6GBPS plan, would the transfer of digital home line be automatic?
