IMHO.
My Singtel Hi is PSIM.
I am on the 30-day plan - the importance is that if i ever finish the data, I can just buy another as oppose to waiting for the month to end for monthly plans.

P.S. I auto ported in from Heya - IIRC, I tried i.e. renew one or two days earlier and it worked. Have not tried in the Singtel Hi app yet but should work.

IMHO.
Before today, I was on SIngtel Hi 5G NSA and for the past 3 weeks, it has been horrid - likely due to SIngtel shutting down their 5G NSA. Even if get connected, at times there will be disconnection.
Today, I change PSIM and was able to use SIngtel Hi 5G SA, good so far.

haha okay thanks. Cos how i read it was that one was able to use ST HI 5G SA after changing to a 'PSIM'. And that helped with the connectivity that was poor prior. So i was wondering what is the link between this 'PSIM' and SA infrastructure. Haha. Now i get it - dont think there is a link.

15.28 monthly plan is like shiat

i think i will port out to eight then port back to Hi!

so far the $15 ok for my usage ... but like yourself i am quite tempted to jump a bit and see how le~ lol

Do you mean esim is able to connect to NSA but Psim can connect to SA? How to switch to Psim and got charges? My son is using Esim and only 4G network most of the time

Probably location related. But you can also check the apn used and change that to "hicard" to see if that helps.

Singtel is shutting down 5G NSA network, so if the 5G signal is not good, it will fall back to 4G.

My wife is using SingTel hi! S$13 plan main for roaming to support the main Singtel S$15.28 plan, iPhone 14, eSIM, no issues getting 5G SA for Singtel hi!.

But she only get 4G roaming now in Guangzhou China.

IMHO.
My case is because of the PSIM ( SIngtel Hi )
My PSIM ( older ) can connect to 5G, but only to 5G NSA. When the 5G NSA shutdown, I end up connecting only to 4G.
So I figure I need to upgrade to the newer PSIM that are true 5G+ - after I changed, immediate I can connect to 5G SA.

You son's case, may need to refresh the settings. Last 3 weeks is terrible for Singtel.
I have Singtel Sim Only and Singtel Hi - performance is erratic.
Yesterday and today, all is working nicely.

4G roaming in Guangzhou China, both Singtel Sim Only and Singtel Hi on iPhone getting 4G only?
Local, my Singtel SIM Only and Singtel Hi also getting 4G, because the signal for 5G+ SA is weak - because likely they shutdown the 5G NSA. Previously no issue using Zym 5G NSA and (crippled) Singtel Hi 5G NSA. Now the Singtel HI is non-crippled getting 5G+ SA.

So try to change apn for him.

My 15.28 plan contract is ending in 2 months. Can I just sign up via the link again for another 12 months on the last day of the last contract month? Or what’s the next best alternative

IMHO.
Yes, my expereince last two weeks was some randomly slowness and even connected, doesn't feel like 5G+ SA.
I have dual SIMs in the phone with the other connection is Singtel Hi 5G NSA with similar.
I suspect could be the shutting down of the 5G NSA and the system is like "resetting"
Now, I upgraded my SIngtel Hi 5G NSA to 5G+SA.
Both the Singtel SIm Only and Singtel Hi are operating as they should.
