I may want to switch my second S$15.28 line (used by my wife, no contract now) to another provider since my wife needs to visit China more often.

eight S$10.8 plan and M1 Maxx S$12 plan are the two main plans I am more interested as they have free roaming voice calls.

i think maxx $12 plan will be good for your wife if she visits China often. Wait for next week IT Show, there might be promo for 6 months plan at $10/mth

I used Eight $10.80. Now China is included in the APAC list rather than international list previously.

with roaming data also have rollover, more than enough for me.

I think may be recently lots of people ported out, thats why they threw in some to hold the existing customers, who know they may throw in roaming data as well in near future, just my wild guess. ;)

New scam?

Just got a call from 9638 1904, someone representing SingTel saying there was a data breach and gave me my name, IC number, address, and email.

Later, the person asked if I or someone ordered an iPhone 18 Pro Max, if not, they would refer me to their customer service to terminate the plan.

I declined and refused to confirm or deny any of the information the caller presented and said to let the matter be, and that I would personally call or visit SingTel if any of the matters presented to me are indeed true.

I have received a similar call, but the person claimed to be from M1.
Convo starts like "Hi is this Mr xxx I am calling from M1, we suspected that your IC have been used for fraudulent transaction, is your IC number "Sxxxxx" ?

I checked the Caller ID it was a landline, and I don't have any M1 mobile services. My reply "Before I answer any of your question, what was my last bill amount ?" The caller said she needed to verify my identity before she could tell me. I hung up and reported that number.

No agent will announce your full name and NRIC before verifying the caller is the correct person.
So your data leak on the dark web will be used for such purposes.

Report the number on Scamshield app. I do that all the time as a service to the community. Once scamshield receives a number of reports on the same phone number, they will block it and report to police.

Not sure if there are many Singtel MNO plan customers in this forum in the first place. Same for StarHub MNO and M1 MNO plans. This forum is over-represented by SIMBA and MVNO users (SIMBA, eight, Zym, Maxx, etc) than the reality.

From the reports here I cannot see there are really many users porting out.

In fact only a few users got this DataXinfinity add-ons (two reports now). My two lines do not have this SMS offer. More users got 120GB or 300GB local data add-on in August 2026 time frame.

As for roaming data, indeed that is a possibility that Singtel may have to offer more roaming data for the S$19.25 and more expensive plans. As for the S$15.28 plan, I tend to think that will not get better roaming data and Singtel may slowly kill the plan in the future.

Hopefully they do and introduce this to existing users instead of playing the porting game constantly. :s22:

A little common sense will definitely help as with your case and statement which I fully agree - "No agent will announce your full name and NRIC before verifying the caller is the correct person."

If they kill off this $15.28 plan, I believe most users will not hestitate to kill off Singtel on their option too. :o

There was a personal data breach from MoneySmart recently. I received the email.

My both auto extended $15.28 plan received this offer; mine both lines are under 160DB local data plan.

I see.

My first S$15.28 line got the recontract successful and also got extra 120 GB data, so it is with 370 GB local data and 50GB Malaysia roaming data.

My second S$15.28 line got extra 300 GB local data in August 2026 but could not get the recontract. Now it has no contract, 340 GB local data, but no Malaysia roaming data.

Looks like those with 160GB local data (40GB base plus 120GB extra, no recontract so no Malaysia roaming data) are more likely to get the free DataXinfinity add-on.

No use to me and my wife anyway, we cannot finish anything higher than 40GB for local data.
