however, it's interesting to note that today's candle is a hammer, which is actually a bullish reversal pattern that forms after a decline. Will this be a bullish revival? Hmmm we'll see...

thanks for the TA. How's the FA?:s11:

ML Research: SIA Engineering: Worst quarter in a decade as PE multiple hits record high

3Q profit dives 41% - PO cut 10% to S$3.60
SIAEC reported Sept-Q net income of S$42mn – its worst result since Dec-2004.
Revenue fell, while outsourcing costs increased and profit at associates declined.
We cut our net profit forecasts by 30% and lower our price objective by 10% to
S$3.60. While the stock comes with a generous yield (we estimate 4.3%), the stock
has failed to de-rate with earnings and now trades at a record high 27x forward P/E.
We think this can’t be sustained given continued industry competition and
Singapore labor cost pressures. Management’s noted the outlook remained tough.
Revenues under pressure while labor costs rise
Revenue dropped 3% YoY driven by its airframe and component overhaul business
as record deliveries of new aircraft into the region, coupled with stagnant fleet
growth at SIA limits the need for maintenance work. Meanwhile, Singapore labor
curbs continue to pressure both its own labor costs and those of subcontractors.
The market is also becoming more competitive from both new entrants and greater
participation by manufacturers in the MRO market.
Can yield hungry investors keep supporting 27x PE?
Management is returning cash to shareholders as it runs down its S$500mn cash
pile. We expect a payout ratio of 120% over the next 3 years as an ordinary 90%
payout will likely be boosted by further special dividends. However, this has made
the stock somewhat sticky, resulting in its PE multiple rising as earnings decline. It
now trades at a record 27x on forward PE (versus its 10-year average of 17x). We
think it cannot be sustained given our forecast of flat earnings.
Forecasts cut to 20% below consensus; PO cut 10% to S$3.60
We cut our earnings estimates for FY15-17E by one third and now stand 20% below
consensus, while our PO (already the lowest of any broker) is cut another 10% from
S$4.00 to S$3.60. Our PO is set at 21x forward PE which is one standard deviation
above its historical mean - reflecting its current low earnings (when multiples are
typically high and its dividend support. Our PO is 25% below the current share price.
We maintain our Underperform rating.

what about hyflux's FA? whats your opinion on the FA?:s11:

OCBC Research

Hyflux: Uninspiring 3Q14 showing
Hyflux Ltd posted an uninspiring 3Q14 showing, with revenue down 46% YoY to S$101.0m, reflecting the timing of project commencements so far; gross profit also slipped 48% to S$60.2m. As a result, reported net profit fell 55% to S$11.3m, which also included a tax credit of S$5.2m. Still, we did see some sequential improvement, as we estimate that core earnings came in around S$6.6m, versus a net loss of S$23.1m in 2Q14. YTD, revenue fell 40% to S$270.0m, meeting 63% of our full-year forecast, while reported net profit jumped 117% to S$110.6m, estimated core loss came in around S$20.8m, or about 39% of our FY14 forecast. But the company warned that the last quarter is likely to be slow, given the mixed global economic outlook. While the group continues to actively pursue municipal and industrial projects in select markets in MENA, Asia and Latin America, we note that Hyflux has not announced any new contracts this year. In fact, management does not expect to achieve financial close for the Dahej project before year end. We will be speaking with management to get more clarity shortly; but we are likely to keep our SELL rating and DCF-based S$0.75 fair value intact.
