Read that it is nearer to travel there from taipei instead. Yes,looked at the map. Thought there is a shortcut linking directly from taichung to hualien and realised it is not the case.

There is a morning train to Hualien
But then I will not advise a day trip
Which means about 10hrs on the road

Short cut is about 5hrs on the road, but then it does not take traffic into consideration.
Always have to consider huge buses blocking your way.

Hi all,

Anybody tried gokarting in Taipei? I did a google search and 3 places showed up.

1) Taroko Kart
2) Love Kart
3) 中和秀朗河滨公园儿童赛车场 (for kiddy)

I think Taroko Kart is interesting. Anybody tried before and can share how did you get their from Taipei?

Thanks.

Anyone knows if Taipei is uncomfortably crowded during the first week of October (due to China's Golden Week 1st Oct - 7th Oct 2019)?

I did read that in late July 2019, China suspended issuing individual travel permits to Taiwan. This doesn't affect group tours though.

Yes, it will still be packed with people from HK.
With quite a lot of my friends flying in from HK by HK express this few weeks.

That is a terrible mistake if you plan to stay one night at Lu-Shan at day 3. Lu-shan was hot spring area but it was classified as land slide dangerous place by Nantou county government after a massive land slide caused by typhoon ten years ago. Most hotels in Lu-shan were cease operation. Public service and basic infrastructure maintenance are almost not exist. It is better to stay at Cingjing Farm hotels and enjoy quite alpine star night. Any question regarding your Taiwan vacation, etc private car service, weather report, hotel information and road repair report , contact David's WhatsApp +886 931 626577. He can help you with the most accurate, reliable and up to date information.

Thanks for your recommending David, but he is not available for our travel dates.

Day 3 stay cingjing ba.
Morning still can go watch sunrise on Day 4 if weather is good.
Beginning of Dec is rather good weather.
Not to worry too much on that.

What the driver say is for his advantage, cos staying a night in cingjing is expensive for him. Fruit farm, you can call or email them. I wanted to go Neihu (Taipei) strawberry farm, call up, owner said he is going out so will be close. Taichung, my book taxi driver try to contact a farm for us to go also not available. So it's not a confirm thing.

Your plan look ok to me. I will not stay in Lu-Shan, prefer cingjing.

Yeah... Thanks for this. We have changed to Cingjing for Day 3. And also found another driver.

By the way, have suggestion for accommodation in Taipei? Prefer to have two bedroom with washing machine/dryer. I read VIA hotel has laundry room, is it well-used/busy?

TIA

The washing room at VIA is only until 9.30pm. There is at least 2 washer but only 1 dryer. Whether it is busy or not see your luck ba.

Is it better to stay overnight at cingjing or just take cingjing one day tour which is good enough? Is there many things to do at cingjing?

I’m thinking to take this tour.
https://m.kkday.com/en-sg/product/3846

Try at least 1 night ba.
Quite a few things u can do.
The last time I went there went to sheep farm, stargazing, go up to Wulin, trek mountains, walk some bridge thing, breathe cold fresh air. The only place I wanted but didn't go is Old England.
But if r not a nature person can skip.

They look very similar to The Karting Arena in Singapore in terms of track and even pricing. Anything different from Singapore that you noticed?

I will be staying at taichung for a number of days and use it as a base as I do not like to carry luggage and stay at a location for 2 days and then switch hotel.

I have decided a 1 day trip from taichung to kaoshiung.

I have 1 more day avail and would like to go for a day trip. I could not decide whether to go tainan or chiayi as like not many things to see. Any suggestions or can let me know tainan or chiayi more worthwhile?

Thanks
