Anybody went to Alishan from Sun moon lake? We intend to take Taichung HSR to Chiayi. Is it possible to buy HSR tickets on weekdays?

Also where to stay in Alishan? Is there public transport from Chiayi town to Alishan main entrance? How long is the bus ride?

Or should I stay at Alishan town itself? TIA

for HSR ticket u can buy at anytime at their counter or alternative u can buy from the apps
if u buy from the app, there will be a qr code to scan n go in

Am I right to say that, once you filled up online arrival card, u could use E-Gate first time??
Or there is another registration at the airport kiosk which i saw the earlier notice articles.

U have to register.... go to the end of the immigration, u will see a white board on e gate registration and someone sitting behind the glass panel.

For those who use klook to buy hsr tickets, take note that klook don't let u book ticket for that same day...

Hahaha... I made a mistake to try to book for HSR for same day... In the end, got to buy hsr ticket without discount...

Was at congaing end of Nov. Not exactly very cold though.
Sun Moon Lake is all season.
So really depends on what do you prefer.

Egate registration is separate registration from online arrival card. you need to go a separate counter to register to use egate. AND registration counters ONLY OPEN AFTER 8am.

2 killed in separate crashes on high-risk Miaoli highway section​

The driver, a 36-year-old Singaporean man, and his 5-year-old daughter managed to get out of the crashed vehicle that brought down two power poles, but the driver's wife, 33, was stuck in the back seat, according to local police.

The woman showed no signs of life when first responders got her out of the vehicle and she was later pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

I used to work n drive in Phnom Penh, initially difficult to adjust to left or right turning, etc. Regularly opened the wrong side of door.
