Hi is using Ichange to exchange SGD to MYR and then transfer to Touch n Go still the preferred choice ?

However I heard now there's a fee involved whereas it was free in the past.

Is there any optimal solution for now

As long your Ewallet is SG issued, there will be fee involved when you topup your TnG

best solution = have a Malaysia Bank account with ATM(Debit card)
Transfer from your SG Bank to MY bank and Topup via MY bank to TnG.

I have a CIMB SG account and a CIMB MY account.
I use the CIMB SG app direct transfer to my CIMB MY account.

Rate are pretty on par with youtrip, instaram exchange rate.

But of cause, diff ppl have diff use case.
If you monthly spend about 2k RM.. than i think its worth the trouble..
If you monthy spend like 400RM.. i dunno if worth the trouble..

So depend on your needs, no correct answer, only which you suit better.

To me, even if not high usage, also worth the trouble.
Having MY account provides more benefits/promotions as compared.

Worth the trouble as in do you head in to Malaysia often, do you use alot of RM in that sense.
cause you need go tru the process of opening a CIMB SG account if you dont have it.
And than opening of a CIMB MY account.
+ you need to maintain abit of money inside the CIMB MY account + there is an annual fee for the CIMB Debit card.

Example:
our usual transfer say from Youtrip to TnG. 1% handling fee.
Every month you transfer say 300RM = thats $3rm.
1 year about $36rm of handling fee.
vs
If you every month transfer like 3k rm = $30rm
1 year about $360rm

worth the trouble , if 1 year saving of $36rm
Worthy the trouble if 1 year saving of $360rm..

Like i mention no right or wrong, it all depends on if you think its worth than its worth.
Im not in position to judge. no correct answer. Im just giving you a clearer picture and you think if worth the trouble for your needs.
