inside e WhatsApp settings>account>usage, u can see which chats taking up space. navigate into those chats, click on e chat title to get into group info. from there click on media, links n docs. all e pics, videos etc can be deleted from that screen...

I use whatsapp since the release of iPhone 5s till now, before that was android, so I think there is no need of deletion of messages.

I used since 3GS

Whatsapp from android cannot port to iphone, so does not matter

Just realised that the status messages of my friends do not have the time indicator i.e. '5 days ago" etc. Is it the same for you guys?

Sorry to bump up this thread. If WhatsApp show two grey ticks but info panel shows read, but time shows 'ooo', means what?

your friend has disabled the read receipt.

You just need to refresh the "Favourites" list.

By default it is +65, I also email the developer, but no reply so far. Don't know how the application scanning works.

Yes. It was from the recent update and also that they activated the Status from their server side.

Eh i have a damn weird whatsapp problem. Quite long to explain but in short, a lot of my messages and media are gone AFTER i updated iOS and whatsapp to the latest version (at the same time, i think the app didn't recover my data properly as i was running out of space).

Now, the funny thing is under iphone > settings > storage, the whatsapp fluctuates between 6GB (which is what i expect) and then sometimes 96MB only (just showing the app filesize only). I'm very sure my data is still on my phone there since it shows 6GB.

Can anyone help me to restore it ASAP please? I'm even willing to pay to get this fixed. Thanks!

Nope it can't be icloud because my icloud drive is off. If anyone has any idea/solution, please let me know.

other party will never get 2 ticks right?

but in group chat, other party will receive 2 ticks.
if i read from notifications, will it show 2 ticks?
if i open WA but not the specific group chat window, will it show 2 ticks?

May i know how to hide phone number change if i use different sim card on the same phone? i am going oversea for holiday next week, and will be getting a Local Sim card with data bundle there to use on the same phone.

The problem is that i do not want my company to know that i going out of Singapore while still contactable via whatsapp, I am in the company group chat as well! I heard that the new number will show automatically on the group chat and private chat screen once i validate on the whatapp in the same phone, is it true? How do i avoid it? I do not want them know my whatsapp changed to an oversea number on their screen and exposed my location! Please help

Though I am not sure what was the intention. But while you are oversea and getting a local sim with data. There is no need to "re-validate" the phone number. Just put in the sim and Whatsapp will just work as it is. Whatsapp recognises the device and not the phone number. e.g. Even when you are oversea, with the sg sim removed, with wifi, you will still be able to get your Whatsapp messages.

People does "re-register" phone number is usually those that moves to another country and need Whatsapp to move their sg phone number account to the oversea number. That's when you need to do that. Else if jsut temp situation, just put local sim will do.

You mentioned that you also don't want them to know you are oversea and can receive messages? The only way you can try is go to the Whatsapp app's Setting>Account>Privacy section, turn off those Last Seen, Status, Read Receipts. Then people will not be able to tell when was the messages was delivered to you or if you have read it. My description was for iPhone, other OS phone, not sure as i have long didn't use them. Also I cannot 100% sure if that works as I have never turn off any of those before since I used Whatsapp.

After plugging in your overseas local SIM card, and when you are in WhatsApp, the app will auto detect if there’s a change of number.

It will prompt if you would like to still use your current number or the new number (overseas no.).

Just select that you wanna still use your current number.
