Does the new .423 improve on battery life? The previous .253 battery life & slow charging time was terrible. i am still using .434 firmware because of its great battery performance

1 thing to note. The data connection in the notifications will appear every time u on your phone.

I presume you flashed the generic Spain firmware? I updated by changing my build prop to the Hong Kong firmware version and then updated via PC Companion, and have no such data on notification.

Another good thing I noticed is that the screen lock function on widgets finally works perfectly.

How to change build prop? Is it the same as in for Samsung changing CSC?

Bingo.

Another thing is everytime I update my movies cover details from gracenote, when I off on my phone, the info is gone. Gotta redo.

Will wait for Singapore's version then do a repair.

Short Review on Official Stock v4.2.2 - 10.3.A.0.423 firmware. I use ftf one as no update prompt yet.

  • Finally! Now it as smooth as my sister ZL which base on same firmware as well.
  • The smoothness is back, not like previous leak .407 which not so smooth.
  • Camera quality is back! Superior Auto is working fine!
  • Too dark area, is better use SCN - Night Portrait.
  • Camera quality is outstanding, by far the best I ever seen
Sample indoor snap using v4.2.2 - 10.3.A.0.423 Superior Auto Mode.

Sony service centre in Bishan J8

hi, i know there is a Sony service centre in Bishan J8. Is it called Xperia Sony Smartphone, 6range Group which is a exclusive reseller and distributor in Spore. Is this the correct one? Or is there a true SONY SC @ J8 which i can't find in J8 website. thanks

Connect to pc companion then select pc repair from the first selection menu.

I dunno if it is repair-able or not.
I thought my phone had dust inside, however i realized that my pictures also contained the black spots.
I guess it's not dust then, it's dead pixels in my case.

Don't go to Wisma, it's a waste of time going there. They will ask you to go Bishan for service, which they claim that Bishan have technicians that can help you service in 3 hours, which happens to be bulls*** too.

Anyway, i read a few users in this forum mentioning that they waited 2 weeks to get their phone back. I guess I am very lucky to get it in one week.

If yours is indeed dust, perhaps they can clean it up and return to you faster. Perhaps no need to replace with a new phone.

Im actually quite disappointed w the black spots in the camera. Im not going to blame the phone or sony, this is a very good phone and i like it alot. I would say this is a case of 50% device n 50% user which is me. Sadly i may have to change phone if this problem appear again bcoz my job requires me to take photos very often and the black spots is a big disturbance.

I didn't flash the ES firmware so I can't comment. Only differences I've read so far are that the NFC icon is not shown in the notification bar and the data-on notification, which is affecting the ES firmware but not the HKG one.

I use Widgetsoid, and there is a function to turn off the screen using the widget instead of having to press the power button. Previously, even though you press the screen-off widget, the screen will automatically turn on within a few seconds. Now, it remains off.
