There seem to be a 3G Mobile Data issue with my new Z ( FW 253). Sometime when try to go to a website, it will complain that there is no connection although the 3G/H+ signal appear...sianz. though thing would be better when switch from HTC One X...what the hell..

Similar to my case here, I think.
But mine seem to work well (still monitoring) when Network Mode is set to WCDMA/GSM.

your know that for whatsapp we can do a popup notification when the screen is off right.. how to do it for text messages ah? cant seem to figure it out.

Yes, I have the same problem with my new xz..sometime it fail to connect to Internet or google play although the 3G/h+ is active...especially when u juz wake up the phone ...Hope it's not hw issue..suck man..

Hi, have a weird problem here.

I usually leave mobile data off, switching on only when there's no free wifi.
But I noticed that I can't get a 'connection' most of the time.
What I observe is although it shows I'm on LTE, but only the arrow for uploading is active (blinking), not the downloading arrow.

My Preferred network mode is set to LTE.

Initially, I reboot to get to it work, but later found a simpler way, that is to change the preferred network mode to 3G and it starts working. Then back to LTE and its working as well.

I haven't really confirm this, but I suspect the connection fails because when my preferred network mode is set to LTE, it seems when there's no LTE in the area, the phone do not know how to down shift to H+ or 3G automatically. Can this be true?

Does anyone here have similar encounters?

I certainly hope the next firmware upgrade fixes this problem, else so inconvenient to turn LTE on.

if u using the stock messaging app, there's no popup alert. however you can install the SMS Popup: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.everythingandroid.smspopup or some other 3rd party sms app which willl normally have popup alerts.

Any one rooted ur Z using Binary's method? Looks very simple but will not unlock bootloader which I do not need.

I had the same problem as you a month plus ago.
Sent it to Bishan for servicing.
Took a week, and they replaced me with a new phone.

I dunno if it is repair-able or not.
I thought my phone had dust inside, however i realized that my pictures also contained the black spots.
I guess it's not dust then, it's dead pixels in my case.

Don't go to Wisma, it's a waste of time going there. They will ask you to go Bishan for service, which they claim that Bishan have technicians that can help you service in 3 hours, which happens to be bulls*** too.

Anyway, i read a few users in this forum mentioning that they waited 2 weeks to get their phone back. I guess I am very lucky to get it in one week.

If yours is indeed dust, perhaps they can clean it up and return to you faster. Perhaps no need to replace with a new phone.

Heard that 4.2.2 is officially rolled out for Xperia Z and let's hope it will reach us within few days.
