Connected to *** but still nothing :(

Hi all,

My bad, next time you can just click on this 2 links to find out whether the firmware has been uploaded online, without going through the PC companion:

Generic SG:
http://fuas.sonymobile.com/fuas/ser...mat=delta,image&channel=cable&cdfId=1270-1412

Singtel SG:
http://fuas.sonymobile.com/fuas/ser...mat=delta,image&channel=cable&cdfId=1270-0743

***Take note of the version in <swVersion> section

For those adventurous enough, go ahead and install the Honami add-on packages or install any of the custom ROMs with them inbuilt, such as this:

[ROM][XZ][01/07]KA01 Xperia Z Radioactive™|Honami Rom!! fast & smooth - xda-developers

I'm trying out this ROM so will give a quick update once I done so.

wow using the price is cheaper than in SG after conversion. ~$600 for WiFi version
Yup, exactly, wonder why Singapore & Malaysia so much different. Singapore expensive in device but cheap in accessories, Malaysia cheap in device but expensive in accessories.

Example: (base on official retailer price)

Tablet/Phone Device
Xperia Tablet Z Wi-Fi
Singapore selling SGP $ 688 = RM 1,723
Malaysia selling RM 1,499 only

Xperia Tablet Z LTE
Singapore selling SGP $ 988 = RM 2,475
Malaysia selling RM 1,999 only

Xperia Z
Singapore selling SGP $ 988 = RM 2,475
Malaysia selling RM 2,199 only

Accessories
Xperia Tablet Z Carrying Case
Singapore selling SGP $ 99 = RM 248 only
Malaysia selling RM 349

Xperia Tablet Z Screen Protector
Singapore selling SGP $ 29 = RM 72 only
Malaysia selling RM 119

I'm going to post these as I'm expecting lots of questions once you've updated to 4.2.2:

1. "Developer Options" is not immediately available under Settings. You'll have to go to "About Phone", scroll down to "Build number" and tap it 7 times before the "Developer Options" appear.

2. The option to take a screenshot is no longer there if you long-press on the power button. You can now take screenshots by holding the volume down + power buttons together. Alternatively, there is a new small app called Clip Manager that allows you to take a screenshot and immediately edit it before saving.

Sony has pushed newer versions of its media apps, thrown in a remote phone location app, a new Functionalities widget, and support for MicroSD cards up to 64GB. Most interesting is this tidbit: "New Customizable navigation bar with quick settings."

In order to access developer option to enable USB debugging in Android 4.2, you need first go to settings / about phone / and press build number multiple times. Its will then say you are a developer. Now you can see the developer menu in settings.
