kaoz.. did chiu get conned?

no la. the phone was working perfectly... until I ran it under water several times.

starting to have some doubt on the "water resistance" properties of the Xperia series. seems like the water might have run into the phone? that's what I'm guessing is the cause of the spoiled home button la. I personally saw water droplets inside the microSIM, under the plastic flap.

either way if they want to charge me for the repairs I'm gonna make noise. if your water resistant phone can't take running water for 10 seconds then don't advertise it as such otherwise you're cheating your consumers, no?

bought my Xperia Z for only 2 days and sent to service center liao :(

suddenly power button cannot work, and volume rocker unresponsive. screen blacked out, cannot turn. hard reset but doesn't work. phone keeps vibrating while screen is totally off... zzz

your case sounds pretty similar to mine. I used for 6mths, suddenly it went crazy exactly like your case after I give it a rinse. But I had made sure all seals are properly closed. Sent to care centre for repairs, and took more than 2wks. Reply was battery spoilt...

did they charge you for it? so in the end they only replaced your battery? I'm kinda afraid they will throw my SP away... spent $18 on it wor

Japanese version screen look nicer woh :s13:

wasn't there a rumor that the Japanese Xperia Z uses a different screen panel from international version

Did they tell you how long it'll roughly take to service the phone?

Didn't know that there was a minor update until coming into this thread.

Most likely will not change phone until next year June, personally those hardware upgrades don't make much difference to me and not worth upgrading phone...

haha, I will be waiting for the next xperia flagship before changing to it. My contract end next year march, hopefully there is a new flagship at that point of time.

i think i might wait till H2 2014 for the next flagship. Hopefully there will be wireless charging with waterproof earphones port. This way will have no more issues with the nasty flaps.

Sony to introduce wireless charging in late 2014 for its Xperia range? | Xperia Blog

I'm using magnetic charging cable for my Z1. No need to open the nasty flap anymore. :D

But wireless charging would be even better. And even better than that, magnetic resonance charging!
