I'd prefer not to unlock bootloader for Sony phones though. cos Sony ROMs work well even with locked bootloader.. brands like HTC will insist on bootloader unlock before you can run recovery and flash ROM.. and when I used Samsung last time no need to say I will unlock so I can flash ROMs to change the whole TouchWiz UI

It is not like this all the time.
Sometimes unbranded sets get updates before branded sets.

But somehow this is the case now mah....

at least this time the stinktel/sony bloatware didn't come back after I updated. unlike previous times.

Update would not come back. It will come back when you factory reset.

I presumed you meant unlocking bootloader to flash roms, which voids warranty and remove the DRM files.

this is a bit controversial, but there was once my BL was unlocked on my Arc. Key thing is i sent in for Hardware issues, the Service centre honored the warranty (cant rmb what since it was long ago)

i think if its Software issues, they have every right to void the warranty since u are not using their software.

Fwah.. The camera changed until cannot use auto only can use Superior Auto, the quality with Superior Auto like damn chui sia, last time I use Auto on 4.2.2, I don't know how to use Manual also

Yes, finally it is available for upgrading. My Xperia Z is upgrading now.

Just click on the Superior Auto and you can change to Manual Mode, you can add in more apps for camera and download themes from the market which is similar to Xperia Z1.

For those who encounter downloading or launching error for Sony Select, I advise you to do a pc repair via pc companion as I have also encounter similar issue after upgrading to 4.3 from 4.2.2.

some nice things i saw from the upgrade...

the default alarm clock function now includes timer and stopwatch.

icons are now a little bit different

default launcher is also updated

of coz the default camera app also very different now. i think there are more scenes to select in the manual mode and also for the flash, theres a torch mode.

personalisation option in the settings menu
