Battery

finally got the xperia z but I realised that the battery life is super short! it depletes by around 1% every 10mins when the screen is turned on. ive tried activating all the battery stamina modes. realised that the maps app is taking around 35% of the batter life. screen is around 24%. android system is 13%. can anyone help me? how do I turn the maps app off? ive tried disabling location service but it doesn't work. any other ideas on how to save the battery life?
also, a message for power management tip keeps popping up saying "maps is preventing stamina mode from saving'. I've tried to click on the force stop or disable button on maps but I get a popup saying that the other apps might misbehave. what should I do?

i do agree battery drain faster on XZ than S3 non LTE, perhaps because i am using LTE now which drains more power when constant scanning on non LTE location.

I off most things no stamina mode, lower brightness but enable to lighting conditions.

Also remember try not to auto sync FB and widgets at regular frequency manual sync if possible. Location-based Wifi maybe a good idea to use when you are in range (under power management)

I could last me one day left 25-30+% at night when i am back for a full charge.

I got a notification from the phone today. It says that "map" app is draining unnecessary batt and advices me to go to setup-apps to force stop this application when not in use to save unnecessary batt usage if I don't need this app working in the background.

Anyone has a fix for WiFi? Never had an instance of being connected to any WiFi anywhere more than 5 mins without reconnecting and this really driving me crazy. I move around a lot and tap onto public WiFi most of the time. Other than this I'm loving my Z

It is normal for new phone and the battery will improve after a week or two as it need more charging to stabilize and run in.

I've been using the phone for 1week already. Will monitor for another week. Thanks! Realised I can't disable maps code i depend on the gps a lot. Any other ways to save battery? Or any navigation app to recommend?

Gaming and video aside, I feel that browsing with Chrome and using the camera heat up the phone significantly and probably also suck more batt juice.

Does using "battery guru" really help in conserving the battery since it uses the location services too? Is the change significant?

Can anyone help me on messaging display, it seems all my sms threads are display the earliest date first rather than the latest dated sms first, so now I need to scroll all the way to the bottom to see the most recent sms thread.

Is this normal?

Please help

TIA
