Hi, seeking desperate help here:
My pre-order asus zenfone 5 has intermittent reboots and I can't seem to isolate the cause. Frequency can be 1-2 days or sometimes twice a day.
This is what I have tried so far:
Updated to latest firmware - suspect firmware/bug issue
Reset to factory default via settings
Reset to factory default via recovery mode
Removed micro-sd card - suspect corrupt card
Installed only whatsapp after factory reset - suspect rogue app
Replaced new SIM card - suspect faulty SIM card
Replaced new Google account - suspect google account data corrupt (yes, I was desperately trying to find a cause)
Now comes the best part, I ultimately gave up and passed the phone to a younger relative and purchased a brand new zenfone 5 from Asus website.
The random reboot issue followed me to this new phone. Now, I'm out of ideas. Anybody?
I really love this phone and think the ZenUI interface and PixelMaster camera is great but with the constant reboots, it's painful to see the ASUS logo at the middle of a call.
Any insight would be much appreciated.
4.4 KitKat coming soon and Android L on the road map!
Asus Zenfone now supports OTG and will receive KitKat and Android L
Was testing the battery life 2 days ago before i sleep, it was at ard 50-55% and 8 hours later in the morning, it became 4%. i did not on wifi and did not put any sim card in it.
if i remmeber correctly, i probably had a car racing game turned onrunning in the background.
But throughout the night, the ph was in sleep mode. Is this normal?
Sleep mode doesn't mean airplane mode.
Try closing all apps, doing a ram boost and set to airplane mode before sleeping.
That should retain your battery life overnight.
