Mine is the brandless one from China. Claims to support automatic wake/sleep.

I followed your instructions but it doesn't work.

May I know where do you read that the automatic wake/sleep feature is activated by the magnet?

Check if your flip case is with magnet-move a metal pin/paper clip around the bottom left of it.
Check if is your phone issues-move a magnet around back button area to activate sleep/wake mode.

I am using the flip case with window, Nillkin brand. The auto sleep/wake is working fine for me..

U guys should invest in the original one. This nilkin is some lousy Chinese brand imo.

Just bought this from him, I must say it's pretty good. Very ideal for those who prefer the naked look of the phone.

Hi. I just bought the this phone at challenger.
I am a noob when it comes to android and I don't want to mess up this one
My phone just pop up that there is an update available..
Will I just follow the above mentioned steps?
After that? what should I do?

unless you are going to root your phone, you shouldnt even worry about anything happening.
