Mine wasn't a direct flat black screen, but it kept flashing between lock/normal screen for a couple of minutes before restarting by itself!?

I disabled lock screen, so did not have the symptom you have.

It had been rock solid for a long time under Android v4.2. Think v4.4.2 need some time to stabilise. But actually I did not see any significant difference between the 2 versions also. Really hope to see firmware update real soon to address the issues.

My zenfone 6 getting crazy after the most recent update. Battery draining quite significantly. Also today suffer the black screen of death after 2 to 3 months!

Anyone experience the same?

Same here! Batt drain so fast, apps crashing, phone gets hot often n takes forever to charge fully. Really disappointed

I disabled lock screen and experienced the symptom (black screen of death) you have LOL. Sian, hope they fix it ASAP.

Zenfone 6 gotten from Best Denki has an issue with back cover where the left side corner cannot be closed properly. Best Denki refer to Asus Service centre as they don't provide exchange of set and the best part is Asus Service Centre acknowledge the issue but refuse to do anything as they claimed as long as the other functions of the phone is working, it is not covered under warranty. Tried with different casings and the result is the same. So last resort is to officially write in to Asus and CASE to highlight their **In Search of Incredible** after sales service. Perhaps to Jerry Shen as well, not to complain but to hightlight the after sales service his company is providing as he may not be aware.

While I under this may be a mid range phone but that does not mean QC has to be compromised and customer is left with no choice.

And also I saw from the Asus website they're selling the 2.0ghz model for 299. Wondering why so many still getting outside for 329? Asus revise the price?

I was using the Note 3 and find that the Asus is good and now using it as my main phone, no issues with surfing speed.
