actually i find it very irony that battery life in oxygenOS/colorOS on oneplus13 is so horrible compared to other snapdragon 8 elite phones. First of all, i like oneplus because of oxygenos because it's well known for being "bloatless" and close to "stock android" experience. And now I ask myself why we want "bloatless" and "stock android" experience? Because we want a smooth experience and good battery life. But end up the battery life of oneplus13 is worst than other bloated phones of the same chip. Is there even still a point of getting oneplus phone? It's really contradicting me. I'm not saying oneplus is bad, i myself used oneplus 7 pro b4 and it's a really good experience for me. That why I would wanna get it again but i kinda need some reason to convince myself.

I thought I saw many reviews say the battery life not bad.

eh... no doubt the battery life is better than OP12... by at least 90min i think... but when u compared oneplus 13 with other snapdragon8 elite phones, it's at the lower tier... i also dunno why. i tot stock android and bloatless should be good but end up eat more battery life. idk what the OS running behind the back or software not optimized at all....

Ace5 likely will be similar to 13R.

haiz ace 5 pro spec and price is so good. value for $$. for ppl who dont need and dont wanna pay more for wireless charging/good camera. just get it to pa game and see social media. too bad only for china market. haiz really treat global ppl like carrot

OxygenOS is not what u think it is already. Stock? It is far from stock now. It is just a copy of colorOS bro.

Your last oneplus phone is OP7, so maybe your perception of oxygenOS is a bit outdated there

same, it seems like the perfect option for me since i don't care about wireless charging, IP rating, or even camera performance as much. and gaming performance is more important to me, so things like bypass charging is really nice to have. but for me the disappointment is with USB2.0 haha.

all that performance from SD8Elite, all that talk about game resolution upscaling, but end up can only play on phone screen itself... when i tested Redmi K70 Pro last time, on a phone screen's regular viewing distance, the difference between 864P genshin and 1200P genshin is negligible when actually playing the game (instead of pixel peeping or taking screenshots). if it had display out support, then would at least make more sense to me to pay more for SD8 Elite. that way when i occasionally feel like it, can plug into larger screen to game. when i tested the iQOO 13, that aspect of the phone was what appealed to me the most. With SD8 Elite, finally have a chip that can run more intensive games at higher resolution and graphics with ease, so using the phone like a gaming console is now actually doable. for someone like me who's a mac user, who only plays a couple of games that are available on mobile too, doesn't make sense to buy a gaming pc or console. so being able to just buy a phone that lets me emulate that "gaming on a larger screen" experience somewhat is super appealing... but after all the time they spent talking about gaming, they eff-ing just gave it USB 2.0... completely lost interest in the pro model liao. cause if only can game on the phone screen itself, might as well just get much cheaper SD8Gen3 phones and just lower the graphics a bit. also can run them smoothly... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ really don't get it...

So funny they always try to cut corners on the smallest components like the USB C connector.

Like how much can they save on the BOM?

ya lor. i have read somewhere that using USB 3.2 will require more RF shielding but then for a phone like this, it doesn't feel like a corner they should be cutting. on ace5 still can understand... but the pro also... like even my old LG V50 from years ago can easily plug into a display. i would be okay even if they just do like apple. USB 2.0 transfer speed for iphone 15/16, but still got displayport support.

i feel you bro, but ultimately shouldnt use it as like a docking console and pa game over big screen. if u wanna do that, probably do it on a tablet/pc-emulator that has better cooling. phone mostly is for the portability ma.
