I think for people who are waiting for CN set to flash into oxygenOS, dont bother waiting bah... I just trying to share a few cents of what I feel. It seems like oneplus trying to block ppl to do that. currently, those that successfully converted their coloros to oxygenos, cannot receive OTA updates. in order to get incremental update, need to root your phone to install update manually. By rooting your phone, it create another set of problems whereas some banking apps dont work on rooted phone because of security concerns. if your phone is rooted and kena malware, the malware got 100% permission to do whatever it wants and that's hong kan, that why banks dont wanna allow their apps to work on rooted phones. Furthermore, local set with vouchers from shop and platform cost around $1115 for me for 16+512gb. I think around S$250 more than CN set only. for 2 years local warranty + proper oxygenOS + supported esim i think still quite justifiable bah. The amount of risk i took is much lower also. I'm not trying to convince ppl to buy local set instead of CN set. About a week ago, i also waiting for oxygenOS on CN set but after weighting the pros and cons, i think the additional S$250 is quite well spent bah. And these are the reason that managed to convince me to turn to a local set. Nowadays CN set also not cheap, not as if u saved like $300-400. If can save $300-400 i will take the risk myself la, but $250 to save all my trouble and worry in the future. I will gladly just pay for it.
All along I have been trying to say this. This year pricing isnt too far off from china sets.

The risks are too big to bear. Considering after you convert, no ota update, and there are some stuffs that doesnt work. I saw you have to root it to get proper cellular connection etc.

I been telling ppl since 11 days, buy CN rom phones only if it isn't your main daily driver and to just play around nia. I alr said then, there is a reason why OnePlus (and other CN brand phones) are doing it, and it's definitely not the one that we like, which is a cheaper CN phone, whether flashable anot. Even during op12 days, I alr predicted that newer phones might be even less straightforward to crossflash, if its even possible at all, and that keeping it on CN roms may not work fully with global apps properly esp banking. People just brushed off what I said as impossible.

Sure, it may not affect the "experts"/"it's just software" phone users, there are also general users in this forum that just want their phone to function normally like the Samsung phones they are used to. So for those who are in the CN rom etc category, please take it to the xda forums where thats all e programming discussion is taking place, not here.

its true over the years flashing roms to w/e to global is harder this days. but i think using a CN rom phone can be used as daily driver, i dont think its not usable and to be brought as a play around phone. As for rooting phone i had a lg v60 i brought for my dad in the past from someone it was already rooted. I got it flashed or rooted back to normal but there was some minor issues, first the security cert for sure wont pass in Singpass app so it cant be used with it. btw this also was a Verizon model so i dont think it only affects CN Rom phones.

Well for sure it is usable but china rom usually has some teething issues one.

One good example is work profile. Wonky on china roms. Tested on hyperOS and originOS

Like I said, I never said it totally isn't for anyone. But for the generic consumer that just wants a phone to just work, it's not gonna be feasible nor something that I would recommend. Even official apps that is on play store alr has some problems randomly as it is alr, and like what other people had noticed on CN roms etc, would you have willingly helped them or take responsibility for? Coz they will not be able to approach Oppo for it. Sure, they might approach the bank etc for it but it's not their responsibility esp if it's a phone not available/bought locally that is on CN rom.
U are also talking about V60, which is no longer supported and secure by today's standards. And that's your dad u are helping with. Will u help my dad too then?

Sorry, the price diff for CN and local set is S$165, not $250. I managed to buy the local set for $1115, i last check that oneplus13 CN set (coloros) is $1049 (16+512), if u apply 10% discount on the CN set is around $950.

So in summary,
Local($60 shop voucher + 10%($123) electronics platform voucher) 16+512: $1115
CN Set (10% ($105) elecontrics platform voucher): $950

Difference is around $160... sorry my bad. $160 more for 2 years local warranty just wack la! HAHAHAHA

that true, for v60 case that like afew years ago back then still got security patches. but i think for most people if the price differents for cn or global roms are quite small its just better to get it locally since there warranty and hassle free unless if that person dont mind the hassles that come with it then i think that also okay.

Is this a good price? No free gifts though
i think okok bah, some ppl want free-gift because value for money. but the value of the free gifts and the amount u paid is just like the free gifts worth $80 more only. Now although no preorder free gift but you got it at a cheaper price.

Pre-order price $1169
case - $20
buds - $55
charger - $59

Now $1115

The additional cost i rather buy a case and a good tempered glass is enough, i already have a 100W charger at home. So for me getting it at as low as possible is better for me. But now the price it's already $160 more than CN set for local 2 year warranty/esim/official oxygenOS. Dont think u can get it anymore cheaper unless they give more shop voucher but provided u can afford to wait.
