Hi need help! i just bought an oneplus 15 from davidvision at burlington square. the guy told me its global rom. It is indeed global rom (CPH2745). But the box is in chinese, and the plug provided is china plug. Just want to verify if this oneplus 15 that i bought is indeed global rom or is it chinese rom that someone tampered with?
You bought the china set flashed with global rom most likely

does it makes any difference with the original global set? haizz! i bought it at same price as global set without all gift. got scammed?
Definitely got scammed. China set flashed with global rom if not wrong, cannot update normally. And there might be bugs as not all things are the same for china set and global set. Esim is one of them.

Definitely not right. Local sets with global ROM does not come with a charger.

Likely export set that they take it and flashed to global ROM.

Also check if it is flashed properly. Like did they leave the bootloader unlock, did they root it. Etc.

The esim function is in global rom, but physically china sets doesn't have esim in their hardware. So it's not going to work. Also based on the XDA forums, once the bootloader is locked, there is no way to unlock it. So if I'm future your phone got issue after update, you wouldn't be able to flashed back to china rom normally.

Nowadays it's either you get global sets or if you want china sets, stay with china rom.

It is a China model flashed to global rom, davidvision has been doing this for a while now. Official local model is cph2747, 2745 is India rom. India's OnePlus 15 this year has esim now, so their firmware also will have esim functionality, but China models do not have esim hardware. So the "function" is there in the software but user cannot use any of the function. China flashed global rom is confirmed tampered with as they have to unbox to put CN sim card , unlock bootloader and flash global rom to get over region lock and have oxygenOS. Also there wun be any official warranty, and davidvision has to send it back to China through their exporter and the exporter has to convert it back to coloros in order for OnePlus CN to honor the warranty, and send it back to the exporter in CN and they have to repeat the sim card and unlocking and flashing process again to send it back to davidvision. And the whole process probably will be a couple of months minimum. And shops like this may not wanna bother with after sales support as well, so all this may not even happen tbh

It's a China set flashed with global rom. Most of the functions such as gemini integration and Google wallet will work just like the local sets. OTA updates are also timely. But the flashed phone will not have esim capability and lack certain 5g bands. Also, 1 or 2 apps may not work such as Disney app. It's no different from the oneplus 15 sold as "global rom" from websites such as wondamobile. Only advantage of buying such phones is you get thr China exclusive color and 1 tb version.
