Tbh I prefer it to perform between 8elite and 8elite5 more than S series coz S series is... ugh

It is a disappointment that it is not the snapdragon 8 elite this year as 13R is using the previous year flagship. However, phone still not yet launched. Hopefully it is based on the ace 6 instead of ace 6t.

To align things here, snapdragon 8 gen 5 is NOT snapdragon 8 elite and definitely not snapdragon 8 elite 5. And yes it will be like the 8S series chip last year. Most likely lower binned chip which performs slightly worse than 8 elite with lower power efficiency

What used to be the naming convention of flagship becomes the naming convention of their subpar series and vice versa...

actually i read up about the chip, it actually looks promising as it looks to be a lower clocked 8elite5 (3.8Ghz max) with the same gpu Adreno 840. So hopefully the new CPU architecture processing in 8elite5 will make up for the frequency difference (about 700mhz)

Normal users should not be able to feel and difference.

it all started when they released two new 6-Core Variants for its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Chip "SM8650-Q-AB and SM8650-Q-AA" in July 2025. Like Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was Qualcomm’s 2023 flagship chipset.

And not forgetting Galaxy custom version of Snapdragon also.
