Maybe OP solution to overheat is just to downclock the processor.

That was precisely the solution they implemented for the first phone with the 810 which is the gflex 2. Over agressive downclocking and forced slow down of the processor to prevent overheating led to laggy performance and stuttering on the gflex2. It prob also led to LG using the 808 for the g4. In which case, better to use a slower processor then to downclock a faster one

OPO2 is using the SD810v2, in which the current sony Xperia Z3+ is using. And yes, it still overheat. One thing they can do is downclock the speed, let the performance take a hit a bit but temperature reduce.

Anyway, QC is releasing SD820 fast to replace this SD810. Rumor LG nexus (2015), Xperia Z5 is using this SD820 which might come this year end.

Very interestingly, was there any information released on why the 810 had overheating issues? it guess its more hardware or deisgn related or else they could have solved it with a patch. Reason asking was if they have not pinpointed the issue, the 820 could have the same problem though looking at the bad publicity, i guess they will make damn sure the problem is solved.

the other funny thing is since the 808 is working well, why didnt more companies opt for the 808 instead of the 810 or is Qualcomm "forcing"them to clear its inventory :p

I think cause they only know how to ape apple. Apple put in front , all put in front. They can be like Turing put at the side or put at the back. And yes looks like samdung, already decided before this not to get optwo liao, now even more reason to siam :0
