That is true. I'm quite confident in the developer scene for Oneplus phones. And I hope their phones are better in quality now. My oneplus one already half dead. The screen no longer register touches in the middle of the screen.

But I've been looking at Essential, at least Andy Rubin is keeping his word on making the phone software better. So many OTAs just to improve the camera and they even have an Oreo beta rom out for users. They hold periodic AMA sessions on reddit so at least they are still active for now.

Hmm, guess I'll wait till black friday and see how then.
how u sure Andy Rubin will honer his word?

Essential was on my list while i waited for oneplus 5t announcement.

But how can a phone live up to it's name "essential" without 3.5mm and decent camera. Ceramic n titanium isnt essential, its a luxury.

Probably will hoot the 5t Unless essential drops below 400usd on amazon during BF

Lol, I'm still a little on the fence.

Essential phone has really beautiful hardware. Ceramic and Titanium body, and the front notch is really unique. Some more it's definitely cheaper and can get from Amazon now with free shipping to SG. Just the camera sux balls.

OP5T will win on larger screen size (not the dpi though) and headphone jack and very likely the cameras too. The only issue I have is Oneplus as a company is not very dependable, always like to flip prata and always so many controversy.

Both ViVo and One Plus are owned by Oppo. And One plus, in Oppo direction, will be heading their high end spec market.

I'm quite poisoned too, but still fine with my op3 and I think I'll prefer fingerprints scanner on the front so I scan and check my phone while it on the table. Face recognition won't help too cos I'm not facing it. Will see price then decide!

Double tap to wake will be a good alternative to at least wake the phone and then unlock with pin/etc.

I prefer fingerprint on back of phone because while on the go, every time I take out the phone from my pocket, my index finger will naturally be in the right location to unlock the phone. Using the thumb to unlock the phone and trying to grip it awkwardly may just make you drop the phone.

Pros and cons.

Sounds tempting, I may do so. Anyone knows which other services send to Singapore besides Borderlinx?

HK is selling at $3688 as starting price, that seems cheaper than the USD listed price for the 64GB one.

Wonder how well the gps and Bluetooth will work, is there in depth review on that? I find my oneplus 3 GPS lacking, poor and slow locking mos to the time and Bluetooth connect with my multiple Bluetooth device dropping signal frequently on the go. Hopefully op5t won't have these issues
