need a lil of advice here. would u guys buy the oneplus 5 or 5T? considering there's a $200 diff for the same specs

these kind of questions are subjective.
if 200 is not big deal to you, and you do not mind the back placed fingerprint reader and a longer screen.
just get the newer one.

OP5, because you are only getting 18:9 display for $200 more. The camera is the same, cpu is the same. Secondary camera is kinda useless. Op5 will be getting face unlock too.

Concern is because my 3T last me 3/4 day max. Could be rom causing battery drain etc. Need to try other rom n settings.

Getting a zerolemon battery pack, thus my sensing is better to hold onto 3T

Install some batt analysing apps like GSAM batt monitor or BetterBatteryStats to see what is the app draining your batt. Else just do full factory reset and start from scratch again. If batt life is still bad then I guess your batt is probably overused.

U buy zerolemon batt pack also costs a fair bit, plus it adds significant weight and heft to the phone.

Else need to spend 500 plus (cost of 5T, minus selling 3T, gift coupon discount etc).

I did some rough costing and if u are not a current SCB credit card holder, u can sign up with them and get $138 cashback. So adding this plus shopback plus 2% cashback (if u applied for the Spree card) plus the qoo10 gift cards, the 64gb one from Simder (which is the cheapest now at $650) will cost u around $487. Then if u sell your 3T at say $300, the out of pocket cost is only $187. If u have a gf or spouse who can apply another SCB CC, u can get another $138 off.

Oh, I was on stock and the battery life was better after upgrading to Oreo.

if you were not rooted and on stock nougat then stock oreo will be better cos the doze is better on oreo. but if u were rooted on nougat and used apps like greenify or naptime then oreo doesn't bring much benefits in the batt life dept.

but where can u get brand new OP 5 at $399 and $499 respectively for 64/128gb? Qoo10, Lazada, Shopee, Carousell all not selling anywhere near these prices.

Actually the secondary camera for OP5 and OP5T is different. OnePlus swapped the secondary telephoto lens with another sensor on OP5T.

I think he did mention the secondary cam on 5T is kinda useless. It's good for low light but lose out on telephoto end of the 5. Since both phones camera is nothing to write home about. You can call that a draw

Finally received my ringke fusion lookalike.

Coupled with imak TGSP(adhesives at edges only so usual dots and rainbow effects may apply) from Qoo10 revelion, everything is good.

The case have sufficient space and won't lift the TGSP.

Which model is this?

I'm currently looking at the Imak full cover shockproof soft TPU from revelion too. Did you get the $1 tgsp?

Yes, I think the secondary camera only kicks in during low light for 5T.

Yup, and it only kicks in at very extreme low light condition, which is below 10 lux. It is like those dark roads/streets with very minimal lighting. Indoor house lighting wont kick in.

so i read that some of u say dun buy op5 if camera is ur top priority. i'm jus looking for a decent camera. would u say that the camera is that bad or is decent enough for an avg consumer?

It's decent enough for avg consumers. Unless you need to print the photos big big, or zoom in a lot, it's not bad. The camera experienc is actually pretty good. Just not samsung, apple, Google level.
