so i've been reading over 30+ pages for genuine user reviews on op7p and i think i'm gona upgrade from iphone 7+.
been figuring out why some ppl would spend on shorter warranty than official store and it seems like official store has changed a few times so it doesn't give me buyer confidence.
what other things should i take note of before buying? if i'm not a frequent mobile gamer, would 6gb be enough or 8gb "safer" to get? are there comparable android phones?

- sealed set means have to flash global rom myself, unsealed probably flashed w global rom
- export sets come w 2-pin chargers
- warp charge need to use OP charger head and cable
- there is no 6/128 config for nebula blue in stock
- users who bought from OP official store experienced sending faulty set to seller then getting rejected because of change of official store (or something like that)

be it sealed or unsealed.. the flashing of global rom is god damn easy.

I will go with 8gb/256gb .. considering the lack of external storage support and the massive storage let me download all my Netflix episodes in 1080p without worry.

Another alternative is the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom, if you need a much better camera. Similar specs processor wise, but an ordinary 60Hz screen.

one thing i forgot to mention earlier was i may still use iphone 7+ as my main. have not decided on complete switch yet. probably will get a free sim from Circles to use on OP7P.

Pro has a curved screen, so make sure you're acceptable w that.

More rams is always welcome coz android is more ram intensive, unlike ios.

Ofc there are other phones comparison which are better in terms of what specific criteria are you looking at - fierce compeition. If camera is not your main concern, I feel you shouldn't be disappointed with oneplus phone as camera is the biggest let down in my perspective. Not horrible la, decent decent only imo. For daily normal usage, the phone won't have any major issue.

Ps. If you're a long time iphone user, maybe can stick with ios since nothing wrong with it. Or else will complain about android as definitely have some learning curve. I realized not everyone appreciate the small little customizable features in android, just like I don't fancy the rigidity of ios. Nothing wrong really, depends on which kind of user are you :o

i agree there's nothing wrong with iOS. it's still a fine ecosystem but there's just no good reason to upgrade to the latest iphone. iphone xs feels meh and i doubt this year's iphone would be much of a game changer either so that's why i want to experience android for myself.

my conundrum between getting 6gb/128gb and 8gb/256gb is mainly because nebula blue is available from 8gb/256gb config onwards

be it sealed or unsealed.. the flashing of global rom is god damn easy.

as someone who's unfamiliar with android, this is good to hear. hope i don't mess up, still.

since i may still use my iphone 7+ as my main then camera may not be a main concern but i appreciate the recommendation thanks

you pretty much summarized it. if you are those that have the habit to clear apps on background 6gb is more than enough. if you are those that heck care and leaves your apps open in background and not worrying of apps reloading 8gb is for you.

ya i'm the kind that tend to clear apps on my iphone as soon as i sense some slowdown in performance.

is it worth stressing over 6-month seller warranty vs 1-year official warranty?
also, is this a good deal?

I got my wife to switch from iphone 7+ to op7p. The camera on op7p is better than iphone 7+ imo. I'm using iphone X and I find op7p camera on latest fw is on par or better especially in low light condition.

Try activating deep optimization under battery optimization. Seems to reduce Google play services on my phone after activating.

Hi. Can advise if my plan is good:

1. Buy OP7P, china set (around (930+) 8+256gb global ROM, only 3 months local seller warranty.
2. Get DBS mobile insurance for 1 year which I think has better coverage than 1 year local manufacturer warranty.

Are there any other tech specs difference from OP7P for china market vs local? Only the power plug pins?

And I am coming from a redmi 5 plus phone. OP7P should be waaaaaay better right? LOL

Hope you can advise, thanks!

How can oneplus camera be better than iPhone :s22: I think its a hit or miss thing in oneplus as iphone cam gives more consistent results imo

if OP7P camera is better than iphone 7+ then that's considered an upgrade for me. although i'm sure it may not be better than current xs camera.

Fyi, that is in usd and gst have not been included

yes, i am aware of that. matter of fact, i found a local seller with 1-yr seller warranty for a better price on shopee just waiting for a good voucher to reduce the price further: https://shopee.sg/OnePlus-7-Pro-256GB-8GB-256GB-12GB-i.2856708.2280219665

anyone bought from this seller before?

Why not? Iphone 7+ was release 3 Generation ago. Technology have move quite a lot during this period. For iphone x, the lack of image stacking night mode is really a sore point. But at least the day photo is still holding up.

Cheapest was $7xx sgd 8/256gb using q10 promo code.

You can either wait for the next deal or buy now.

I would say 8/256 is the sweet spot
Agree, no regret at 8gb/256gb. Fast.

Since USB C to 3.5mm audio jack dongle not included in the package.

What you use for wired audio?

USB c earphones?

I was wondering if you buy a 3.5mm dongle. Can I use my iPhone earpod mic with it
