This is standard for any phone using 4g data, because calls come in on your 3g network, the phone needs to switch interface and your data will drop off.

Volte supposed to help with this issue as it makes calls using 4g network instead of 3g, ensuring that your 4g data doesnt drop off while you're making calls as there is no need to switch interface.

Ooo. thanks for explaining. Haha. So technically I need to follow the steps provided previously in the thread to enable volte since oneplus did not enable this function by default right.

there would be a volte icon on status bar when it is in use if you are not seeing means it is not enabled

i found the issue. got to re-activate the full port switch. somehow it was turned off despite i turned it on previously

Good you got it resolved. Btw i noted the full port switch always revert back to off, believe after restarting the phone.

dont worry, malaysia network still works for me though. have tried australia too, it works

Actually when the workaround first surfaced, the overseas profile are to be deleted and I recalled it came back after OTA and i need to redo the steps.

But to be safe like what bro Keyoke mentioned, just deactivated and activate other country. I have been using India one.
