Hmmm being able to Google Pay without unlocking your device is surely a convenience but also a security flaw leh.

I came from Pixel world and to my knowledge I always have to unlock to tap so I've gotten into the habit. Will try to wake-tap next time I'm on public transport.

im on the pixel 3a and also no need to unlock to tap. just have to wake the screen, can tap le.

My gpay when tapping at gantry after waking up is very slow.. Like wake up, tap nothing only after a few sec then can scan.

Is this normal?

Anyone experiencing OS hanged when swiping up to close apps? It happens a few times on my phone already. I am using stock OP OS 11056.
And in dark mode, the white wordings is glaring to my eyes as compared to my samsung note 10 no matter how I adjust the brightness.
And is there anyway we can force apps to full screen mode? Most of my apps not appearing for me to select . I can force full screen mode for all apps in Samsung. Dunno is it due to Android 11..

I have similar hang issue when swiping up. Hopefully that's just an OSS11 bug that they will fix soon. Not sure if those using nav bar will face this when going into recent apps?

Mine similar. Best is still to unlock and tap 100% works lol.

Tried yesterday, couldn't get phone to pay without unlocking. 11.0.5.6.KB05AA

I realised if wake screen few sec before tapping will work slightly better but then now still 100% slow down at gantry

Usually I double tap my screen a few secs before the gantry and screen is brightly lit up and I tap. Works 100% of the time.

Ya, cannot immediate tap after waking up screen. I tested multiple times yesterday.

Wake up screen at least 2 seconds before tap.

It is slow but not sure same speed as yours or not. Took like 1-1.5 sec

After much troubleshooting. I know the culprit. When you turn on face recognition, it makes it slower. Phone will attempt to do face scan. Without face recognition then no issue, immediate jump into camera app. Face palm sia

Ah... I also suspect this... But need face I'd cos with the SP n finger print hard to detect, face unlock is the fastest way to go

Yeah. I came from a pixel 2xl. Didn't really like the optical fingerprint. Slower and the constant extreme light up of the fingerprint scanner. I not sure in the long term effects on the screen like burn in screen. Prefer back panel capacitive fingerprint scanner

do any of you have issue to cast (mirror screen) on TV? I'm using LG TV and the phone shows as disconnected after selecting the TV as wireless TV
