Hmm... I think in general, most big company don't follow up on their products as well as they should.

OnePlus just happens to be one of those that spend abit more time in doing so.

I don't recall my Samsung friends having prompt updates. I think their lag is worse off.

Then again, this is based on my limited knowledge.

Now Samsung is leading the software update behind google pixel only.

Now they support 4 years of security updates.

8T is not their flagship product iirc.

8 Pro is their flagship no?
:s11:

I think with OnePlus hard to define flagship because they release phones twice a year and 8T happens to be in the cycle where they didn't release a 8T pro.

So 8T being their newest phone before 9 releases should be their current flagship imo. But the point is more that they can't even support their newest device properly.

About VoLTE or wilficall, it's our Telco just don't support them on this phone. The phone has all these features.

Unless one day we can get OnePlus from Telco like Summy phone. It's a small market here for OnePlus.

Like that say also not right because the phone maker should take the initiative to work with local telco to support their devices not the other way around.

Singapore is an official market of theirs so they really have no excuse.

In a blog post published on the official OnePlus forums, OxygenOS Product Lead Gary C. has confirmed that the company’s “China market devices will now be using a customized version of ColorOS, tailored specifically for OnePlus smartphones, starting with the upcoming OnePlus 9 series.” The Product Lead also confirmed that the company’s global devices will continue to run OxygenOS.

Actually, it is good to have 2 different OS to cater for different segments of consumers. :)

Coz we must also understand that, on the other side of the coin. A lot of consumers reject OnePlus phones due to its "pure Android"... :)

A very smart move by OnePlus. :)

I would opt for ColorOS...:)

Ya! Must check first to see if the phone can be crossflashed / switched between ColorOS and Oxygen OS...

I tot oxygen OS is one of the selling point as the interface is smooth.

Wouldnt it a bad idea they do so?

It is different now.

With SD888 and Android 11.

I don't see much of a difference for day to day usages.

Many consumers reject OnePlus coz Oxygen is simply too pure. This segment of consumers either do not know or find it troublesome to keep downloading 3rd party apps to use due to lack of features with the stock Oxygen OS.

With ColorOS, most of the common and popular apps and features are included out of the box just likes other OEM brands.

From the business point of view. Brilliant move by OnePlus to capture bigger market share... :)

It's hydrogen OS to be replaced by color OS. Not oxygen
