OnePlus launched the successor of the OnePlus 12, the OnePlus 13, towards the end of October in China. Also, it has officially confirmed that the global launch will take place in January 2025. Now, OnePlus has made another important announcement introducing its Green Line Worry-Free Solution program.

This initiative is part of the company’s broader Project Starlight, which aims to develop superior display technology and deliver an enhanced user experience. As part of the Green Line Worry-Free Solution program, OnePlus is promising long-term peace of mind for users—the industry’s first ‘lifetime warranty’ for display issues, including the green line issue.

Three key steps of OnePlus’ Green Line Worry-Free Solution program

OnePlus’ solution starts with the development of cutting-edge display technology. To combat the green line issue, the company has integrated a PVX Enhanced Edge Bonding Layer into all its AMOLED displays. This new material has exceptional resistance to weathering and chemicals, forming a robust barrier that slows down the intrusion of moisture and oxygen.

By replacing the old, less protective material with this high-performance layer, OnePlus equips its displays to handle extreme conditions, such as high humidity and fluctuating temperatures, which are reportedly the causes of display issues like green lines. The PVX layer effectively provides a much more durable and long-lasting display, reducing the green line problem significantly.

In addition to improving the display technology, OnePlus has strengthened its quality control processes to ensure that every device meets the highest standards of durability. The company conducts over 180 rigorous tests on its devices, simulating real-world conditions such as extreme heat, humidity, and structural stress.

One of the key tests is the “Double 85” test, where devices are exposed to 85°C temperatures and 85% humidity for extended periods, validating the display’s performance in challenging environments. This thorough testing goes beyond industry norms, ensuring that OnePlus devices remain reliable and durable throughout their lifespan.

Lifetime warranty against the green line issue: a bold promise

Perhaps the most significant aspect of OnePlus’ announcement is the introduction of “a lifetime warranty for display issues like the green line problem,” which covers all OnePlus devices.

OnePlus provided similar solutions to this issue in the past. However, the company acknowledged that there was room room to improve the manufacturing and quality control process. It will also be interesting to see if other brands follow its lead and invest in similar efforts to address one of the most frustrating issues with smartphones.

The edge bonding to prevent intrusion of moisture and oxygen is not the cause of green lines. Intrusion of moisture and oxygen will only oxidise the OLED organic pigments, leading to black spots.

So is OnePlus Lifetime Warranty against green/pink line issue on screen applicable in Singapore for local sets bought from Singapore's OnePlus Official Store?

Sounds like Singaporeans are being treated as stupid idiots that can be easily discriminated and not worth of being given same treatment of free lifetime screen warranty for OnePlus phones' manufacturing defects like green/pink lines on phones' display screen despite the fact that Singaporeans pay much more for the same OnePlus phones in Singapore compared to Indians in India! 🤬

Singapore market too small. You can say we pay more for OnePlus phone compared to India, but the total sales from Singapore is much lesser than India. They have much higher volumes than us. Singapore mainly using iPhones and Samsung.

Erm, b4 u blindly scold, it also applies to US too, where even US market is bigger than SG for amount of phone units sold. India market probably can easily 1:100 or even 1:1000. Like shadowz said, Singaporeans mostly only know iPhone and Samsung. We are even lucky the phone was even brought in by a secondary distro and warrenty being honored directly by Oppo. I really dun want OnePlus to end up like Vivo during their X100pro and X200 pro days where they sell in Malaysia only and skipping SG totally

Then that means Americans are more stupid idiots than Singaporeans to buy OnePlus phones for allowing OnePlus to get away with such discriminative policy of favoring one nation over another?!

But I know most Americans don't buy OnePlus phones, but many Singaporeans do and so Singaporeans are much more stupid idiots than Americans! 🤭
Many Singaporeans are just stupid idiots (and I don't want to be one of these people) not knowing how to get fair deal and assert their rights to fair and equitable treatment from OnePlus (unlike Indians)! :ROFLMAO:

Hmm, where you get the idea that many Singaporeans but OnePlus phones? When I am out in the streets or public transport, all I see is iPhones and Samsung. Occasionally Xiaomi, OPPO and maybe Honor. So far think only 1 or 2 people I see in the public using OnePlus phone.

Many Singaporeans don't even know the existence of OnePlus. I bought OnePlus 13 for my wife and she is happily using it and when her colleague asked her what brand she using, she doesn't know...

And not just OnePlus is favouring India. Xiaomi too. Basically any phone makers will try to get hold of those big markets. Singapore is just too small. Some brands don't even bother to sell in Singapore, like Motorola.

By the very bad customer service by OnePlus and also OnePlus Singapore for refusing to fix defective screen for free in Singapore while OnePlus promises and providing free screen replacement in India for the same manufacturing defects! OnePlus can't even bothered to update their new Service Centre address on their website!
OnePlus is clearly practising discrimination between Singaporeans and Indians!

Since OnePlus does not value Singaporean customers despite providing defective products (they clearly only valued Indian customers!), I am now banning OnePlus phone from now onwards! Similarly I will avoid OPPO, Vivo, RealMe etc because they are all 'brothers' of OnePlus (all phone brands under BBK Electronics and they share many same phone parts!), especially OPPO that actually shares same Service Centre as OnePlus!

i dun see how is that bad customer service. I think Samsung, and i guess even iPhones dun even wanna honor green line issues WITHIN warrenty even, i've seen cases where the service center rejected the cases as human-induced damage.
TBH, good riddance and goodbye, the brand family do not need you if thats how entitled you wanna behave, and don't say you are singaporean to other people coz we will feel ashamed to be associated with you

But but but, OnePlus declared openly that it will provide free unlimited replacement for green/pink lines to all OnePlus phones bought in India BUT rejected to provided same free unlimited replacement for green/pink lines to all OnePlus phones bought in Singapore!

Meanwhile, Samsung, Apple, and all other companies practised universal treatment without discrimination, i.e. if Singaporeans don't get it, all other countries will not get it!

So If OnePlus is not clearly practising blatant discrimination against Singaporeans, what is? You work for OnePlus (or Vivo, OPPO, or BBK Electronics)?
