Again why is this phone good? Besides the price, I don't understand why the hype..

Similar to Oppo and Xiaomi.. they overhype and 'sold off' but hardly see anyone use.. infact, I've never seen anyone use.. its like sold off coz its limited edition quantity or what?

Its like hype for a new donut or bubble tea join but usually quickly die off..

Of course if one doesn't want to follow mainstream then these are models to get..

I think for a new start up, their target is very simple. built the hype and meet sales target/projeted profit. they confirm will meet sales target much like xiaomi. There is huge market while paying value for dollar for top end spec hardware. the way they operate is built to order hence reduce the risk of extra inventory and able to gauge market demand and provide useful data for the future expansion use.

Yeah. Ppl want to get the phone asap, not wait ages for it.

The reason to get this phone is its price point and specs which are on par with more popular flagships. Nowadays we want all our technology cheap and good. Samsung phones are no longer worthy to spend on. So here comes the cheaper and less popular alternatives.

Oppo maybe hardly anyone use, but Xiaomi.. I've got at least 5 friends using it and I've seen people using it on the train and buses too.

Good product at a great competitive price, but availability remains to be an issue. May no longer be 'cheap' after importing it here and it does not help by the way they are selling through invitation system.

inventory is the reason lor, they won't have the production capacity of big names like samsung so they'd rather limit the releases first. after all they are a very small company... skali the phone got some hardware flaw that's undetected in UAT then if they launch with a big bang then they'll be screwed

When they sell their phones this cheap, they don't make a lot of profit, so they can't afford to have any unsold sets. Can't blame them for playing it safe.

But the phone is still made by oppo as oneplus does not have a production line yet.
