Everyday I'm thinking about the same thing. I just got in two weeks ago and I'm dreading everyday. Its so much tougher and hardcore over here that i just can't take it.

Is it possible to down pes due to dislocated shoulder before? Life inside here is so much worse than i thought it'll be.

It's always possible to downpes. Whether successful or not is another matter and only your MO will know

You can have a dislocated history, but still with no physical problems through OCS.

You can have no such history at all, but that doesn't mean you will not have a chance to get dislocated.

Highlight it only when your history is an issue that is currently affecting you to your PC.

If dislocation is not an issue, and you have thoughts in giving up OCS, inform your PC also.

It is not worth to undergo 9-months of training if you no longer have the interest to complete. This could endanger yourself and others esp as it involves your own independance in the field particulary JCC.

By the way, just for info. If anyone who OOC from OCS after entering their second term (2 white strips) will attain a rank of 3SG and posted to unit.

probably that will depend on their vocation and medical condition. my encounter was friends OOC from CDO OCS and got 3SG and revocated as Inf Spec.

just to add on, those OOC from ASLC usually gets CPL.

commando is different lah.

the standard progression to become an officer is BMT->OCS->commission.

but for commando, you do not go straight into commando OCS from commando BMT.

after commando BMT, those with potential will go for commando SCS. then after SCS, those with even more potential will cross-over to commando OCS after passing out from commando SCS.

Hi TS, what is this 'tougher and hardcore' that you can't take? Are you struggling physically or is it just the regimentation and discipline you cannot accept?

I used to be under one of the toughest and most siao on PC in OCS. We were constantly punished over the slightest bit of mistake.

One person moving in a file? Knock it down. Not signing loud enough while marching? Drop 20. Area cleaning not good enough? Carry on.

But to me it's always mind over body. Your mind is so much stronger than your body and this is exactly what OCS is training you to be. Pushups? I see them as a form of exercise, not punishment. Try to develop a positive mindset and know that you will always have your buddy beside you swimming in the same sh!t.

Looking back now, it's all worth it. 5 years after I graduate from OCS, I'm still waking at 0515, still making my bed each time I wake, ready and out of house by 0545 for my routine run. I never regretted going through OCS.

Take time to consider this carefully and good luck!

i think what u said made a lot of sense. in fact it kind of slapped me awake. i.. i gotta admit that i do know all these actually but i guess im just too lazy and too weak in the mind to carry out such a regimental and physically tiring lifestyle.

i'll do my best and persevere as long as i can. thanks man.

Maybe when you hit 45 year old with worn out joints and dead end job yet still having to serve another 5 years you won't be singing the same tune.

Has it been changed?

Isn't it service term = CPL, Pro term = 3SG?

Anyway to TS, just inform your PC. You will be dropped.

i think (assuming you are an officer) u should look into the mirror and see how dishonourable you are to the entire officer corp for saying that about other people.
