The SPWS bill says "Meter Reading and Data Management" $2.18.

Noticed that it is incurred for both my 1st and 2nd bills - despite supposed estimated reading for alternating months.

Ohm Market (Wholesale rates) has $10.70 per month... small monthly fee to look after you, it states.

so many deal, i stick with SP wholesale for my house. My parent house usage very low, like 180 kWh monthly only, which provider give the best 24 months bill rebate.

Which is ridiculous money grab. Should just go SP directly, middle man Oem is suppose to guard (insurance) from price surge / hikes which their WS plan don’t.

I'm also looking to switch provider for low usage, compared Senoko & Tuas. Seems like Senoko is cheaper for a 24 mths contract.

Latest bill SP wholesale AMI, 8 Dec 2020-5 Jan 2021
Total usage 1096.97 kWh, $0.14437 per kWh including GST.

SP wholesale still most competitive :s12:

please don't jump

don't increase our demand :s13:

The demand is not based on WS customer but everyone.

Contract going Finnish by march, now everyone jump to sp wholesale?

Oem is still a better option for most as not everyone can afford the unprotected risk of WS. Just don’t pay SP tariff can already.

True, SP told me many signed up in December and January so prices likely to hike up and advised me to sign OEM fixed rate safer.

BS.

nothing to do with the number of WS customers.

the surge, if happened, is due to total demand in singapore, cumulative total of sp and oem users.

This. Believe its based on national consumption. Supply & demand. The former I think is irrelevant given how sg control prices (reports that there was oversupply), prices always can trend upwards for other reasons even when oil & gas price heading down.

Demand, those "surge" can kill off any savings with 1000% pricing which are unforeseen in real-time

Does spws supply and demand pricing go in tandem with commercial rate like electric car bluesg consumption?

dont think so. If u look at the USEP , is about overall supply vs demand.

even if it hike......consumers aren't stupid too, they will just jump back OEM since boundless contract...

electricity is like daily expenses.

if try, at least can save some money
if don't try, pretty much $1~$3 per 100 kWh diff only.....

Guys, since fuel prices are still relatively low compared to historical prices, is it not wise to lock in the best deal with OEM rather than go with SPWS? With covid largely behind, the fuel prices are expected to reach the normal price levels and since fuel price is one of the major component that EMA uses to regulate the tariff, I expect the prices of both regulated and wholesale to inch higher this year.

The low prices seen in the SPWS last couple of months are perhaps because of low fuel prices, but I am not entirely sure. If anyone have other opinions, please share.
