Oppo Find N5

this device is being marketed as a productivity tool. it is weird that never been tested with Microsoft apps such as Teams, over 2 generations some more? it is not a bug that you would expect to see in a premium product line.

Try going to "Foldable Features" in the settings and then "Dual Windows" you should see Teams in there and switch it off - this worked for me on the Find N3.

It's seems like if it's the OnePlus red Type C to Type C cable, the N5 cannot detect....

i can, and it works for both my N5 and OP13, also using the oneplus airvooc 50w to wireless charge the N5 also

Shouldnt have this kind of issue, I used quite a few types of cables and chargers at home and in office, all worked on the phone.

Just that it will only be normal charging or fast charging if it's not an Oppo charger. Never encountered any cables that wouldn't even charge the phone.

All my OP chargers and red cables are definitely working cos it can charge my OP10 pro and OP13 and the cables and chargers are type C to Type C...

I use Baseus Type C to Type C cable on my OP charger, and the N5 still cannot detect...

Leads me to belief that N5 cannot do type C to Type C cables ..

Anyone tried?

nope, i am using the Oneplus Red Type C to C too, and my PD type C cables and chargers can charge too, just not supervooc

oh no. it has been happening since N3 ? yes. you are correct. I had to hit back a few time in the convo then it will work, but not all chats. The method that will always work is to fold it and unfold it again then the keyboard will work in unfolded mode. If you select a different convo then you have to repeat the folding/ unfolding.

does this mean either Microsoft, GBoard or Oppo never realise this stupid bug and get it fixed until the next handset generation (since N3 and N5?)

no idea. since i got the phone in 2023 it as been like that. even if ms teams got update via playstore. the issue persists.

I highly suspect Find N5 do not have pull down resistors... How can they overlook that?!

been swapping around the type c cables to simulate what u have mentioned but i still cannot replicate it not charging no matter what....
Oneplus charger - original red c-c cable, oneplus charger - 3rd party PD c-c cable
PD charger - original red c-c cable, PD charger - 3rd party PD c-c cable
Anker powerbank - original red c-c cable, Anker powerbank - 3rd party PD c-c cable

3rd party thats sold in SG only anker can, but taobao should have also but cannot ship to sg.... only other alternative is a PD/PPS converter cable which i tested is only about 30+w

another type of powerbank most can try is those supporting UFCS ones, but i do not have time to test coz the night of the same day of collection on 24 i fly off for my vacation alr.. but even those kind of powerbank is use USB-A to C for UFCS, and most prob must also use compatible cable to charge, max 33W

Just had my first drop with my N5... I had it in my pocket, lay down on my son’s bed while talking to him, and when I flipped around, it slipped out and fell onto the tile floor from about 12-15cm. Now there’s a minor scratch or some paint peeling on the top right corner...


Pretty sad. So yeah, be extra careful if you’re using it without a case!
