Diff perspective i guess. To me, a phone camera is snap and go thing. The photo needs to look good after u snap and not look natural and then go edit later. Photo taken from a phone need to be ready to use and need no further processing.
For someone who likes photography, he will hone his skill further to make the photo look even better. But how do u know the photo has improved? This is where u need to show them to people, on social media or even forum, be it criticized or praised or simply see how many likes u get. The photo is not for showing off. Taking photo and for ownself to see will lead to no improvement coz your judgement is always the same. Having a hobby without improvement is dull tbh. This applies to every hobby.
But of coz maybe natural is consider beautiful to u. This is why i said diff perspective.
imo.. how u hone your skills to make your photo looks better has nothing to do with the camera.. if u use a lousier camera or the same camera and your photos get better and better over time then yes.. I agree your skills are getting better.. but if u change to a better camera and as a result your photo gets nicer how is that improving your skills? with exactly the same shot same settings same framing of cos a better camera will have better results.. but with different framing, composition, lighting a lousier camera can have a chance to create a better shot..
just a very simple example.. do you think an award winning photographer can take better photos than you with a vivo x60 vs you using x300 pro even without any editing? I think you would say yes right.. cos he has better skill.. not cos he has a better camera..
