Thank you all very much for your input. and ESP roy for that indepth anaylsis of my situation.
After careful consideration I decided to opt for Palit instead. It is costs lesser and has better performance, however it is worth noting that the MSI card has a slightly thicker PCB than Palit counterpart. This was a gamble I took on my end, but with 3 years warranty, what's there to worry?
It's been 3 days since my purchase and I can say this card is solid.
For Elite: Dangerous, I went from 30FPS with my old 560 Ti (which is still working after 4 years after purchasing from mynextcom) at medium settings to a fluid 55~60FPS on ultra @ 1080p.
For ArmA 3, I went from 22FPS on low settings to 50~55FPS on Maxed Settings @ 1080p.
The card is extremely silent even during load. My 560Ti used to sound as though a helicopter was just beside me. But this baby runs so quietly that I barely notice it. The avg temperature with full load rests around 73 degrees celsius. I have never seen it rise above 76 degrees. and even at full load, its drop dead silent.
Also worth noting is that this card has a boost frequency of 1304MHz which gives you an extra 1~2 FPS than MSI Gaming 4G. and is priced much more competitively. Seriously a bang for buck for anyone considering a GTX 970.
It also comes with a free Arkham Knight game key as an added bonus! But I really want that MGSV: Phantom Pain instead!

I bought the card from mynextcom. and the Service rendered is excellent as always. Owner is very helpful and friendly. Had a good chat him while I was there. I'll highly recommend this shop to anyone who's looking to build their next rig. Because personally, should I need more parts upgraded, I would definitely come back here.
I am very pleased with my purchase and it seems that I've made the right decision going with Palit and mynextcom!
THANK YOU ALL again for your input, I am now a happy owner of a GTX 970
