Hi,

I'm looking to purchase aircon over the weekend.

I'm wondering if Panasonic aircon are good in terms of reliability, performance and features.

Anybody using Panasonic aircon can advise? Thanks in advance.

Don't.

My Panasonic inverter system-3 aircon installed two years back broke down 2 months after installation. Had to change the PCB of one unit. One year later, another unit's motor up lorry. 1.5 years later, another unit's PCB up lorry. Air-con assembled in Malaysia.

Choose it at your own peril.

I use Starmex but recently installed Panasonic at my rental apartment as they were on discount.
My office uses Panasonic and they are quite reliable and working well after 15 years.

Sanyo
National
Mitsubishi Electric
Daikin

These are the brands to go for. First two no horse run but not in the market anymore.

no doubt.... sanyo and national become panasonic

if me ..... i go for mitsubishi or daikin... consider on spare parts btw!!!!
The spare parts argument is moot imo

My 7 year old Starmex suspect compressor leak can't even find first hand compressor anymore, so end up pay $4k change whole thing to Panasonic

There is one feature that Mitsubishi doesn't have that prevented me from buying it (yet last time National had)

Sleep timer

Press to auto stop aircon after 1 hour or 2 hour or whatever

But take note Panasonic sleep time you need to keep press the button back to zero to disable. Cannot just press cancel.

My Panasonic aircon is 10 years old. But recently one unit had problems, cannot start up. Technician came to fix it, said PCB had problems. Not sure what he did. But basically if fail again, have to replace whole aircon as no more parts.

"Intel is best because most people around me use Intel can get spare motherboard and my office also use Intel. Expensive but you pay for what you get."

Food for thought.

Most aircon reviews in Singapore are irrelevant because we only own one aircon of a model that is 15 years old. Nobody is going around doing proper aircon reviews.
