Anyone doing a side business for passive income or mostly doing stocks?

I don't know what kind of side business you have that counts as "passive" income. It took me a solid six months of weekends-and-evenings work to write the first edition of my book.

Not sure if ppl have mistaken or misused 'passive' with 'additional'? Some of the passive income quoted are not passive at all!

u created a foundation for a future passive income stream, many many years to come :s13:

Adam Khoo did it!

Yeah, it is like you buy a house to get rental income which is passive income. But you might have spent a year researching for houses and price trends etc.

Shiny's example is even more perfect for passive income, because the revenue stream continues even after he stops his effort.

Basically passive is anything outside the 9-6 job.

the best passive income stream is one where u do not need to inject capital ($).

"Don"t kill the golden goose that lay the golden egg"

If u need money, u kill the golden goose that lay the golden egg, no more eggs (passive income)

Eg He wrote a book, no capital ($) but earns a future passive income stream. No need to kill the goose unless others kill it :s13:

Depends on the person's risk taking ability.

Some people just want to secure the profit before it goes up in smoke..
the profit can then be ploughed into another venture which might make money as well.

This is like a small company having only 1 customer for his business. The business might be valued at $10mil and is a golden goose that delivers the income.
But, once that customer switched or reduced his orders, the business value will plummet and income will also be reduced significantly.

If you are the owner of the business ad you have only 1 business, you will be tempted when someone offered you $15 or $20mil for your business.

By taking that $15-20mil, u have secured your own financial freedom and position. From there, you could lay out your options.

No right or wrong.
