Which chassis? $249 as mentioned by TS? There are chassis over $800.

I know there is, but for mATX there are many options and nice looking ones with cable management features. I can find nice ones for <$50. $249 is overkill, just MHO.

Thanks for the inputs. I chose the case cause it comes with a controller and ARGB fans, which would give some RGB lights to the case, as my friend would like some RGB lights in the rig. The case is also rather compact, as compared to a full tower and cleaning (of dust filters/vents) looks to be easier.

I need to clarify that PC Themes did not recommend the parts; I chose the parts myself and took the price from the pricelist. I will consider replacing the stock cooler too.

Some even come with the aRGB/RGB fans. Additional aRGB fans also won't take up $200 with a controller. I sold the fans that came with casing for $20 and replaced with white LED CM 120mms.

$249 is a bit expensive IMHO. There are better places to spend that kind of money. Like a larger NVME and forgo the 1TB HDD? You can go for the RTX3060 also.

CPU+MOBO :5600x + B550m Steel Legend 664$
SSD: Buy from Amazon.sg Crucial P5 nvme ssd for 160$
PSU: SEASONIC FOCUS GM-750W SEMI GOLD 7YRS 159$
Ram: 3600mhz CL16 RGB Crucial Ballistix 8gbx2 for 120$ @amazon.sg
GPU: RTX 3070 palit gamingpro 818$
CPU cooler not necessary but if you need get a cheap one like 212.
Casing: Ask him to choose. If not P400A/P500A, Meshify, Lancool ii mesh, TD500 ~150$

Windows, don't buy. Use unlicensed or go online and find. Around 20-30$ can get OEM keys.

Total: 2071 @ pcthemes and amazon.sg

After you buy monitor ~500$, keyboard and mouse (got razer bundle get cynosa, kraken lite and razer viper for 170$ at popular) got leftover upgrade the card to RTX 3080

Thanks guile and skrekro for the build recommendations! I will take them into consideration. I think I would be considering getting SSDs from online shops instead, to save cost.

You are right, I decided to look at other options (e.g ATX) too such as the Phanteks P400A and ASUS TUF 301 suggested earlier. However, I would need to see if my friend likes the other casings. I took a look at other Tecware cases and they look good too. Thanks!

Tecware cases are mostly modified copies of popular models in the market. Low price but feels cheap, u get what u paid for anyway.

But for a cheap case, nr400/nr600 should fit the bill cab get below $100 during 12.12 if u diy.

Ditto. I'd stay away from tecware cases unless you really like the look or really don't care. Feels cheap, bad QC, form over function. For a bit more, can get ones from more reputable brands. Built like 3 for my friends and hated it.

I took the Evo Nexus which is ATX. The front to squeeze 3 fans is a bit tight.

It's cheap but good, honestly, at $70 for a ATX casing vs what I was looking for out there, I think I'm okay, my last casing has no cable management + tonnes of 5.25" bays, so decided it's time to change.

It's pinoy brand, so... but oh well it's compact and nice for my ATX board, I've no complains.

but yes the cm nr400/600 are good budget options. the silverstone ps15-rgb is another good matx case with 3 included fans.

This was what I understand when I WA and PM PC Themes, but have to be Asus Motherboard and AMD CPU according to Asus Promo. You can double confirm with PC Themes before going down.

If you prefer other casings than can go for cheaper similar performing other brand motherboards like the Asrock.

I'm using tecware forge m black casing too. Tbh, the quality is actually ok for a sub $70 case. The hinged door with tempered glass is really nice too. It just looks compact and handsome imho, and the holes are relatively easy to access if you're gonna diy. The only worry that I have is actually the dust build up on the mesh after awhile I guess...

I'm on Nexus Evo, if only the front can do 3 120mms. Am going to try to fix in 3 soon, now on -ve airflow, 2 in 3 out (rear+2 top).

The side dust filter helps in dust trapping, I also added my own dust filters + magnetic strips on them so I need not screw it on and easier to remove to dust.

Price wise, honestly at $70 (-$20 for the fans) is quite worth it. I'm also using a tower cooler. It can fit.

got any specific dust filters to recommend? where did you get them from?

I bought a 120x120mm 5 pc set from taobao. Then I got 1m of magnetic tape, pasted 2 strips on 1 side of the filter, then overlay on the fans behind the front vents.

I put 3 pieces infront of the Nexus Evo although I only have 2 fans. Once my 1TB M.2 comes, I will remove the SSD holder and should be able to squeeze in another 120mm fan to balance the airflow.
