PC Died *Recommend New Rig*

Seeking advice.

I put my pc to sleep to take dinner, and when I came back, I found out that I can't start the pc at all.

So I open the system casing and tried to short the two power sw pins on the motherboard, nada, no sound, no lights, nothing at all.

Would it most likely be a power supply or motherboard problem? Can't really be anything else right? Any other way to test what is the problem?

Damm, right before cny :(

This looks like your psu die. Because if PSU faulty pc will not be able to power on totally. I have a fsp aurum gold use 1 year suddenly also like that. Totally no power cannot switch on then have to send for rma.

But you can start out by doing the simplest troubleshooting steps first like reseating ram, removing the gpu and use the igpu to ensure it is not the gpu faulty etc. Or using 1 stick of ram etc.

I had the same encounter. It happened, for some reason, always after I switch on aircon. I bought a brand new psu only to find that still cannot switch on. So I pull apart the cables bit by bit only to find that somehow 2 of my sata cable shorted... Removed them and it started fine. Strange

Sent from some remote planet in space using GAGT

My PC also died last Sunday with exactly the same issue as yours. Tried swapping psu but still nothing. I suspect motherboard is dead.

just sharing my experience, many years ago while building my current rig, i saw a lot of recommendations here to go for fsp aurum gold PSU, end up 1 year plus it died and i immediately change to seasonic brand and till now it still works fine. i thought i was suay get lemon product so suck it up till i saw this thread.

recently browse around new rig builds recommendation also only saw people recommend psu brands like corsair, CM and seasonic. seems like FSP brand not so popular anymore.

FSP no market liao, Superflower took the performance/$ crown and Seasonic warranty/$ for cheap and good gold ATX PSUs. Even when comes to SFX the FSP Dagger Pro is really bad.

i have to say, after using FSP/Seasonic

i would say Seasonic is a good and reliable brand for PSUs (used almost 8 years and still kicking. (only coil whine)

FSP is good for budget options
