For the last few days using my LG monitor, I get random popup messages on the monitor that image clean-up has completed. I think the LG monitor actively does this as and when needed which is a good thing.
i think in OLED regular image clean up is very important.

Hope to hear from your more in depth review in coming months how is your unit perform as I am aiming at this LG OLED & Mini LED currently.

In reddit there are already pool showing AW3423 series with burn in issue, it is not isolated case as the number does not seems good.

this is a small tips for IPS panel user with HDR function paired with Nvidia GPU, if you wish to have a deeper black with your HDR content you can try to check the option of Colour Accuracy Mode to override to reference mode:

I have been testing this options more than 2 months now and if you do not like how it looks can always uncheck and back to "Accurate" mode.

I am so far pretty happy with the monitor except for the fact it looks warm. Some white screens are looking yellowish.

Take note current Mini LED technology with HDR increased input lag as much as 3x so you might want to consider this. OLED so far does not have this limitation and I think as OLED panels progress over the years, this will become much better. I think many will abandon Mini LED technology once OLED becomes more advanced and cheaper over the years.

i totally agreed on your view for this OLED movement perspective which I am currently trying to do more research and evaluate my usage pattern if OLED really suit my needs.

Doing some test, after calibration using the new windows HDR tools a few of my games does look much better in bright exposure without over shadows the clarity of the images.

Also just realised for the same HDR video in youtube within the same monitor, Chrome (left) can display av1 codec, but Edge (right) can only show as vp09 results in the color so much better using chrome

Revisited this comparison with LG 27 OLED as it seems in browser HDR display per following screenshot :

1679897874687.png

1. Chrome (Left) overall still brighter and more vibrant
2. Edge (Right) darker dim processing but more details and solid highlight

Currently Netflix only recognised Edge (Right) for HDR on browser, chrome (Left) only qualify for the HD display:

Icic, many thanks.

I go through some of the RTINGs review and it seems this LG 27 OLED have faily good consistent of sustained 2% to 25% windows (850nits to 400nits) while due to its smaller screen format of 1440p I believe this benefits the monitor better overall depends on the HDR contents.

Not sure but I am guessing with HDMI 2.1 higher bandwidth of 12bit color with Dynamic HDR it somehow assisted better substainability too on the display, if anyone have better explanation?

@Yongkit, have you try playing movie/drama in AVI format (raw video) with your new LG HDR capable monitor ?
I played Heavenly sword and Dragon sabre 2003 converted to AVI (raw video) , 480x360 resoluation, audio at 16bit, 44.1khz. The play is very good, but it's expensive since the size is 18gb. It also utilize the 3D hardware of my GPU.
Here are some screenshots. :)

Netflix (Premium), Disney+. If can play, the video will display Dobly Vision.

Not sure if the pc app (Netflix/Disney) supports that. Never try before.

I have both subscribed both does not have Dolby specific logo on display at the title, one thing I do noticed was the Amazon Prime video now also have UHD HDR logo display on the windows app which previously does not show up, forgot if got "Dolby" for sound, tonight I go back and check again.

Prime Video (Windows App - No Dolby Vision Logo )

Chrome Browser (No Dolby Vision Logo )

Edge Browser (No Dolby Vision Logo )

1 thing I notices was the wording color for Windows App & Edge Browser is very similar, while Chrome browser is more brigther appear on PC)
