I tried this The Ring of Power (Prime Video):

Pixel 6a (got Dolby Vision Logo)

View attachment 39195

Prime Video (Windows App - No Dolby Vision Logo )

View attachment 39196

Chrome Browser (No Dolby Vision Logo )

View attachment 39197

Edge Browser (No Dolby Vision Logo )

View attachment 39199

1 thing I notices was the wording color for Windows App & Edge Browser is very similar, while Chrome browser is more brigther appear on PC)

I think this is because some of the windows apps are directly based off edge browser

Your Pixel phone should be DV ready.

For PC, you can try downloading the dobly vision extension from MS Store (the last i checked, I could be wrong.)

I never get to try the extension coz my monitor cannot support DV. I normally watch DV content on my LG OLED played on Nvidia Shield Pro using PLEX/streaming app.

Many thanks for sharing.

Currently I am testing on the Mass Effect Andromeda which have Dolby vision HDR mode and it's tricky to get it to work need more test. There is no issue using HDR10 but Dolby vision seems need to use Auto HDR mode to work but I not able to confirm yet since need to play through some time to experience it, for now just consider my PC is not Dolby vision certified yet.

maybe depends on oled models. those tv usually have ABL where you can see the sudden dimming when displaying whites for too long :o

This video does explained the LG 27 OLED is more stable in overall ABL performance with little effect compare the same panel tech.

This graph also show the LG have better ABL control over the QD-OLED

This game TLOS was recorded using LG 27 OLED in game HDR enabled ( YouTube took sometime to convert HDR) and its look stunning even on 1440 High setting (no upscaling) "without Ray tracing". I enjoyed every moment of this game. :)

Advisable to watch on mobile or monitor with HDR enabled.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/direct3darticles/high-dynamic-range
technical articles for "This topic shows how to use DirectX with Advanced Color scenarios—including high dynamic range (HDR), wide color gamut (WCG) with automatic system color management, and high bit-depth. Premium personal computer (PC) displays with at least one of the above enhancements are becoming widespread, providing significantly higher color fidelity than traditional standard dynamic range (SDR) displays."

This Redditor shared the HDR in game comparison between LG & Asus unit.

I wonder anyone can tell the difference or which is better?

Observe the lighting in the red flash, the color tone of each layer on the weapons and the color grow in the space.

Better color vibrancy.
I see no video, guess my vivaldi browser does not support such video broadcast.

I assume you get better color vibrancy through DP 1.4 ?

I wonder if you're also interested in 3D video ?
I played 3DS title with Citra emulator. There is an option to enable stereoscopic 3D effects. Quite interesting
and playable even without glasses. :) Of course my HDMI fibre cable does support 3D.

Many thanks for sharing.

The bee hive is shield effect of the game.

No worry the picture does not need HDR monitor to see ;)

LG 27GR95QE OLED monitor

I have been playing with FPS mode for more than 100++ hours without VRR & G-syned enable, just happen today I wanna try someting different and noticed the FPS mode + G-sync seems so much better in gaming and it help to resolved the flickering issue i experince previously compared to Gamer 1 mode + G-sync

my current setting on the monitor was:

Game Mode : FPS

Game Adjust : VRR on

Picture Adjust : Brighness 90

Nvidia Driver : Game Ready Driver 531.79

Connection : HDMI 2.1

Resolution : 2560 x 1440 (Native)

Refresh Rate : 240Hz

Color Depth : 12 bit

Color Format : RGB

Dynamic Range : Full

G-Sync: Enable G-sync compatible + Full Screen + Display Specific Setting

Games Tested: MW2, Halo Infinate, RE4 remake

for those who wish to used G-syned perhaps can give it a try, if not suitable then can just reset to what is your preference mode for game play.
