sorry, the picture i've taken are in really bad angles but yes there's only one as of now, its below the psu.
Hang on, you meant there's only 1 fan inside your case, and it's the one shown in the picture, below the psu?

Haha yea, there were 2 initially, i placed one below the current one to drain out the heat, didnt really work though since i still had to play my games with the case open.Hang on, you meant there's only 1 fan inside your case, and it's the one shown in the picture, below the psu?![]()
Yes. But the gpu heatsink and thermal paste should not be tampered with as it may void the warranty if any.

)Ok, no surprises the PC is overheating then. Anyway if you were to install one two fans at the back, they should both be exhaust (blowing air out of case).
I believe there should be holes to install a few fans at the front, near the HDD cage. I think 2 intake fans in front and 2 exhaust fans behind should be sufficient, but it won't fix the dust issue in a convenient way. The new PC cases have dust filters near the fans that can be easily removed and washed without opening up the case, so that's probably what you want.
Anyway, 1 & 2 suggests that your CPU was overheating. To see check whether your heatsink is mounted properly/thermal paste is ok, download HWMonitor and prime95.
- Open your case and point a fan at your PC. Set it to a reasonable speed (lowest should do, unless your fan is going to spoil
)
- Run HWMonitor, u should be able to see your CPU temps ("Intel blah blah") in realtime under "Value" column.
- Run prime95, click "just stress testing" if prompted, then "options" -> "torture test" -> "in place large FFTs".
- Watch your cpu temps shoot up then slowly climb for about 10min, then note the maximum. But if u see it going above 90degC, stop prime95 ("Test" -> "Stop") - u have a problem with heatsink mount or thermal paste.
Since you're using stock cooler, anything around or below 80degC should be fine.
Regarding the first time u went to get it fixed, did you ask the guy why he claims your gpu and motherboard are damaged? If he can't back his claims, then he's prolly bullsh!tting, so don't worry too much for now.![]()
Thermal paste has to be extremely thin and cover the full surface area. Too thick and the temps will rise.
Hi guys, sorry for the long absence, been busy with work, gotta fund an upgrade somehow haha. Like chong said, i did the check on the CPU heatsink and the result were that it hit above 90 at around 9min 30 sec, so i guess its a near pass?
So i think right now, the stock cooler isnt working as well as expected due to the poor airflow in my current case. I'm looking at changing it to something like Corsair Carbide Series Black 300, is it a good idea or is there any other recommendations do you guys think its better?

Alot with one simple water cooler(for long term), as a form of assurance so that i dont have to constantly check the temperature. Any suggestions on this?
Thanks for all the help so far, i've learnt quite a bit than i would have with blind research.
Can use isopropyl alcohol to clean n remove the thermal compound. Then apply some arctic silver 5
of cos...must wipe clean like a baby

Lol ok. The thermal compound other than simlim what kind of stores will sell them?
