Though much more suited for advanced users or homelabbers, I suggest you can easily find a wireless card powered over 5V or USB, connected to the power pins in your PC Mobo, and integrate on a home automation platform like Home Assistant using wireless protocols like ZigBee, Wifi and Matter. It should not be too complex to even DIY one with a cheap ESP32 board over ESPHome. China Mijia might sell one easily available.
External switches only improve the access to it, but It make more practical sense for a switch to be integrated with routines, sensors and create home automations around it. Eg. Seated on the gaming chair PC and gaming ambiance lightings auto power up, PC auto power up in advance when you reach within the geofencing you set up for your home around a certain timing, or even a scene switch (from Aqara) to turn it on wirelessly etc.
