Recently many case of TS creating thread and TS went missing after that.

LOL! My favorite is still the guy who created two ASUS bashing thread relating to his supposed backlight bleed only to disappear when asked to provided better angled pictures documenting the BLB.

As said, they don't even need to remove item from price list. If you do check every week, some shops do mark N.S , - or empty space for those OOS.

They don't even need elaborated inventory system for that. Excel will do.

It's pointless to do so since there might be stocks update every single damn day. Imagine today no stock then tmr come and change. Quite Kafkaesque.

And the worst of all they will have to print a fresh batch of pricelist every now and then? Ppl sure kpkb why online list never tally with the list they put in their shop, vice versa. A very uneconomical decision. Might well not bother in the first place

I had one and only experience with PC Themes. Bought a 3rd party laptop power adapter from them. Didn't work and went back for refund.

For me, the go to shops are Best Price, Video Pro and Tradepac for MOST components. Two words - cheapest pricing.

I think service is quite over-hyped. What kind of service do you want? Get you a chair and serve you tea ? Have to install the peripherals yourself at home anyway. Just buy and go. I've never encountered the 'legendary' Tradepac black face treatment .

SLS, like everywhere else in SG, is so crowded. Do price research, make up your mind, get the item, pay and get the hell out. Before the crowd swallows you .

Had a bad experience with PCtheme;

Due to the fact that I was led to believe that the updated price list (e-Brochure) is accurate thus made my way to their store in Sim Lim to purchase a particular item; Zotac 960GB SSD, however the sales person (Not Yilong but some skinny dude wearing glasses served me) and was abit taken aback when he told me it was OOS, fair and fine enough.

The part that irritates me is the fact that I noticed the latest price list still reflects the item thus advised them nicely to remove it since the item is OOS. A guy called Alan replied that I should have called them, I give him credit for some constructive justifications/arguments. HOWEVER, through my further investigation, that particular item OOS since months ago and even after my request they did not clarify, and the thing is that they know about this issue yet nothing is done.

Therefore, that will the last time that I ever go near that shop again due to the fact that one item is OOS and yet remains in subsequent pricelist, how can we trust them the accuracy of availability for all items listed then?

Last but not least, even accuracy is not of utmost importance, it is accountability.

if the item is popular or available in limited quantities, normally i wont buy from sim lim square shops because by the time you go there to buy, it will not be available anymore.

Aiya, SLS stores usually keep oos stocks in pricelist. It's not new.
So if a consumer building full rig at their store and die die want a certain part, they can 'borrow' stock from other stores and quote price from their pricelist mah.

I ever bought stuff from video-pro online (which indicated stocks available), made full payment alr, but go down to collect they tell me no stocks.
Isn't that even worse?
Morale of story, call to confirm got stock before going down. Else waste time.

Anyway, anyone notice PC themes getting abit complacent?
A few months back, accompanied my friend to get a new rig from them , they actually forgot to plug in the internal usb 3 connector.
They even ziptied the internal usb3 cable to the back of the case lawl.
(Yes, I know it's a small problem easily resolved within minutes for most of us, but imagine asking someone who's never built a rig to troubleshoot it )

I never say they must change price list everyday lol. Fuwell only changes their printed price list on weekly basis despite having updates to their online price list twice every week.

plus... they (SLS shops) would tell you use cash instead of NETS or credit card (3%) to offer u better pricing...when purchasing from them.... this is the part i always think its troublesome...
