it comes in a big can, basically u pour it into a boiler and heat it up to serve.

My wife just bought it from Esso, but I look at the size, somehow I doubt it can feed 10 people comfortably... :D Ingredients wise it's listed as what's on the picture, but again I doubt it comes in that quantity....be prepared to have to add in stuff yourself.

Who bought and cooked it already? I think most is give as gift or cook on CNY's eve right?

For others info: It has sharkfin, flower mushroom, abalone mushroom, bamboo shoot, dried scallop as main ingredients whilst chicken and abalone soup based. (read from the can itself).

Pricing at ESSO is $68.80 with fry dried fish maws (local store selling 3 pk/$10).

I planning to add in stuff like top shells ($4-$5) and volutun shell ($8-$10), used their gravy and stir fried abit with garlic, dried chili, padi chili and balachan - I think it will make $68.80 peng cai alot more grand, nice and be just perfect as a starter dish. :D

No lah, i cooking up gravy seperately and I forgot to mention last part of my gravy is a egg to thicken it. Pour hot over the can peng cai (heated up), plus top shell/voluntun.

I like your suggestion: may buy and add in roast pork or duck! Yummy! Cheap cheap hot 1/2 homemade peng cai ard $100 :D Can add in cylinder cut dried fish maws, suck up the gravy and would be nice too as ganishing. Yeah!

You could try Zhi Ran restaurant at redhill.
Last year, I saw they have these dinner package for take-away...wah..very worth it....it's in a big bowl with many many good ingredients in it.
You can try calling them to ask how much and is it still available - I think must order in advance.
Their food taste very good and not too expensive so I guess their Peng Cai should be good as well.
