Perth (Lots of advice & help needed please!)

This will be my 2nd trip to Perth and already explore MR region previously. I don't mind go back MR to visit one of the caves. I also didn't go pinnacle and rottnest island previously. That why allocated last 3 nights in Perth. I guess 3 nights is more than enough at Albany .

So it will be
Albany 3 nights
MR) busselton/bunbury 1 nights
Perth 3 nights

my 11 days itinerary at perth, can someone check if this is a good plan. if anything i am missing out, feel free to add on if any. thanks in advance


01 may
reach perth airport 6pm. taxi to fremantle, dinner , stay overnight at fremantle

02 may
at fremantle take ferry travel to rottnest island, visit fremantle market, stay overnight at fremantle

03 may
grab rental car at fremantle, drive 3 hrs to Kojonup and take a short break
continue driving another 2 hrs to torndirrup National Park, explore blowholes, gap Natural Bridge
stay overnight at Albany

04 may
morning drive 1hr from Albany to Denmark , visit Greens Pool, Elephant Rocks/Cove
drive 35-40mins to Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk, visit Giant Tingle Tree
drive 1hr 45mins to Pemberton, stay overnight at Pemberton

05 may
at Pemberton, visit Beedelup Falls, maybe Warren National Park
drive 1 hr 30mins to cape leewin lighthouse at augusta
Drive 30mins to Hamelin Bay Beach
Drive 35mins to margaret river
stay overnight at margaret river

visit mammoth cave, Ngilgi Cave Ancient Lands Experience, Yallingup Beach,
drive 1hr to bunker bay, stay overnight at bunker bay

Just to check, are you getting a GPS system or just using Google map? Checked Optus and Telstra coverage map, some area will be no signal which might affect Google map

I am using Google map from my phone and able to connect to nobird Corolla hatchback Android auto thru wired connection.

Just download off line map just in case . U only missed out the real time traffic update when using off line.

Just save the money renting the gps if u need to pay.

Nobody rents the GPS these days, just use Google maps, which area are you going that doesn't have coverage?

If you stick to the main roads, you won't get lost, just follow the signs.

As someone mentioned, the alternative is to download offline maps.

Noted, and thanks for the advise.

Actually is the stretch of Highway 1, from Walpole towards Pemberton, no coverage either Optus or Telstra network, but as you have mentioned if a main road, so just drive along will do.

Not bad around 15-18c . Credit card extra charges depends on which restuarant u dine in. Not everyone charges

Yes, arrived Perth tomorrow early morning, and spend fist 3 days in Perth(may meet you) before driving south.

I will stay in MR, and will plan to visit : Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, Jewel Cave, MR Chocolate Company and some winery tour for a day and then another day with Leewuin-Naturaliste National Park - Canal Rocks and Busselton Underwater Observatory Tour before heading back to Perth.

Actually I drive from Perth to Albany (5 hours, 400+ KM) in one day, then next day from Albany - Denmark, to MR.
If your first Self Drive, it is good that you have planned to break your trips.

To MR, its at most 3hrs, you can take breaks at Mandurah or Busselton. No need to stay overnight.

My rental car was damm dirty after the trip. So I went to the gas station, make my last top up, borrow their cleaning stuffs to clean up my car before returning.

If u guys are at pemberton, please visit hidden river estate for lunch, the pork belly is so damm good. Dinner at chefingo at pemberton is good too.

if at margaret river and craving for pasta, can try the spot italiano. Pretty decent
