https://www.todayonline.com/singapo...quirements-allow-more-serve-various-vocations

Published23 MAY, 2017UPDATED 23 MAY, 2017:
Currently, pre-enlistees are assigned a physical employment status (PES), which is one factor in determining their vocation during National Service (NS). For example, those assigned PES A are deemed fit for all field duties, including frontline duty, manoeuvre vocations and direct combat. Those in PES C are fit for combat support vocations and undergo a modified BMT programme, while those in PES E are fit only for administrative duty.

What does that tell you?

the site has been revamped to make it more friendly to ppl, since its a MCC for pre-enlistees. they would be more interested to know what vocations they are eligible for, rather than what activities they can or can not do.

im just looking to find medical directives from reliable sources that indicates what every pes status can or can not do.

calling or asking a MO wouldnt be helpful in letting commanders know unless the MO email them about it lol.

i doubt things changed. the current site omitted a big chunk of information from the old site, so as to simplify it for new enlistees.

current table is just a subset of the old table.

anyway, what does LIFE activities mean?

the SAF calls LIFE activities as physical exercises basically.. can be from morning jogs to team bonding games (e.g basketball, frisbee etc).

and yes, big chunk of info might have been removed to simplify because information that they require can be obtained from the comprehensive website of CMPB > Pre-enlistees. Or other platforms such as this forum as well, where in the past, either such platforms does not exist or not many people has direct access to the internet.

If your intention is to find some detailed table from some online sources that’s not from official sources or without a date to it, to tell your commanders what you can or cannot do, you are better off asking your MO to write a definitively memo to say what you can and can’t do.

Not for me. For every1.

The directives, as far as my mo is concerned, is in a classified book the mos share.
Unsure if the MOs have a softcopy he can print out for me.

Sure, hence there’s a reason why it’s not available online?

The MO doesn’t have to print out, the Mo just has to issue a memo.

If there’s dispute over interpretation, as your commanders to call MO or ask MO to call commanders.

fine is fine. if i pes e i also dont mind. its about the only exercise a pes e would ever get.

but noone should be made to do something their pes status doesnt allow.

purpose of this thread is just for me to verify what each pes can do. cause i very clearly rmbr pes e is fit for admin duties only.

and ya, the table is still valid and still in practice. things in army hardly change. and when it does, it does very slowly.

You intend to verify something official here???

And how you know the table is still valid and in practice?
